brodhead creek

fished brodhead creek yesterday from the 191 bridge through the park. we each caught 1 on a wolly bugger early. then there were some rising fish so we switched to dries. we picked up a few each on adams and parachute adams. a bunch of different bugs coming off in the late morning. all different colors (not very good at identifying bugs) including a green bodied bug with very light wings? looked like a green sulfer? it was hard to tell what fish were rising for. didn't see many bugs on the water, most in the air.

I am guessing that the green bug is a Cornuta, a size 14 olive that hatches in the morning this time of year. When they first hatch they are a very bright green, then get darker as they "harden". Usually fish love them.

Large BWO for sure. I catch them every year around this time on the Brodhead.
