Brookie withdrawls. Heading to the Berkshires and Southern VT in the morning.

How did it go? While generally not huge in size, fishing for Vermont Brookies can be fun and uncomplicated! You can literally fish the whole day with the same fly and do great hiking around from pool to pool up the mountain. Some larger (10-15 inch) fish can be found in beaver ponds and in mountain ponds/lakes.

My son went to the University of Vermont and now lives in the Berkshires.
I fish there often and it is my favorite kind of fishing. Water has been lower, clearer and more difficult to fish. I did a lot of exploring and found a number of great streams. I still managed to catch plenty of fish, mostly brookies, including a number feisty, fat 8-10 inchers and a few browns.
