Excellent presentation and very informative. It provided a basic message of keeping most things simple such as making a simple leader and sticking to flies that work. Just get them to the fishes face and you will do well.

AJ aslo mentioned tippet rings which i got a few weeks ago and also highly recommend. They make tying on droppers and creating a leader easier and allow for faster changes on the water.

I learned a lot from his presentation and liked the delivery, which was cut & dry. Specifically I like how he encouraged nymphing with gossamer tippets. However, I found it funny that he kept referring to the fish as "idiotic....they have brains the size of peas...think about it..."

We devote thousands of dollars in equipment and sit through lecture after lecture in pursuit of their submission and often return from the river "empty"; what does that make us? Humbled to say the least......

You have done a superb job in growing that TU chapter from the Cranford Trout Fishing Club to what it is now! You put a lot of effort into what you do there and it shows.

The glossy sheen off of the leaders does spook fish. I am glad that you picked up on that one. I feel that covering every base might add a few fish to your catch per outing. Just think about it when it adds up during the course of a season! I promise that you will catch more fish with the techniues in the presentation. Don't think about what they are eating, but rather get your flies to them. I believe that any nymph within reason will get eaten.

For fly fishing i always think of the order of importance as follows: Presentation, size, color then correct pattern.

It was a really good presenation, several thibngs I'm going to be trying this year. I've been fly fishing since 1968, and even after all these years, you can still learn something new.

Also congrats to KLG on his chapters conservation award for 2009.
