Franklin Tnsp, home of the Truck Transfer Station?

...someone deserves an attaboy...

106-acre farm permanently preserved in Franklin Township | NJ.com
http://www.nj.com/warrenreporter/index.ssf/2010/07/106-acre_farm_permanently_pres.html

"Ecologically, about 70 percent of the farm contains prime farmland soils needed to produce a high yield of crops. The Pohatcong Creek bisects the property and preservation of the farm will help ensure protection of this stream and its watershed, according to the conservancy."

That someone would be David Epstein, Pres. of the Land Conservancy of NJ (formerly Morris County Land Trust). I was with him yesterday for a deer drive to fence out deer on a property we (TU) helped to preserve and are now helping to restore. We have been working closely with David's organization on several properties, most in the upper SBR where we have lots and lots of Heritage brookies in unnamed tribs of the upper river. Thanks for this post, David didn't mention this to me.

I guess it's done differently in PA. My uncle usually has deer drives in the early fall, w/ his (and all my cousin's) bow (s).
:D
Don't drive them north....I'm almost finished putting in all the landscaping I bought the week before the West Portal Brook planting!

I had signed up for the deer drive which was to move the deer out so fencing could be put up, but on sunday I broke two ribs, and that took care of that!

It's great that Dave and his partners were able to get the owners to preserve the land and come up with the funds, no more worrying about what would have next in fighting develpemnet there.

If Rick falls in the woods and no one hears it.......

I didn't get the chance to respond to your email the night you came home from the hospital, but I do hope you are feeling better. Try to look on the bright side.....it did take your mind off of that foot I stepped didn't it?
