Re: Brook trout ponds of Vermont
What a day in the Green Mountain state! I hiked around a few different brookie streams and caught some micro brookies on dry flies-nothing big but nice scenery. Then I hiked an hour and a half up a mountain to Little Rock pond. I had hiked there once before and it is supposed to have large wild bro...

Summer Smallie fishing in "trout" waters
I took the pup to Natirar Park yesterday for a walk and took opportunity to check the flow of the NB. I have not been fishing in a couple months now. It actually wasn't quite as bad as I expected but obviously still hurting. That got me thinking about smallmouth fishing in trout-stocked waters like ...

Re: Hoffman's Crossing Bridge
Was a major stocking point, if it's all posted up I'd assume the state will cease stocking it there. They shouldn't be stocking publicly funded fish into what's now a private access fishing spot. [/quote] Totally agree, and again, if its private property and then becomes posted, we have to always r...

Re: fishing etiquette ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyWk8lI8dcI Good basic common sense. Best part of that advice is asking which direction the other person is working... up or down. Then just go the other way. I dont head 50 yards ahead of them and "beat them to the new water". They were on the river first, that give...

Re: LV/Flanders area SBRR
Resurrecting this thread from a year ago. Yesterday I did my spring scouting trip (meaning with spinning rod to find the fish) through old Claremont TCA area up towards the AA boundary. Nada. Not a single follow, flash, spook, anything. After original post last year, the handful of times I fished it...

Re: Has anyone been out for trout
I'm in CO for a couple weeks for work, and spending the weekend in Estes Park. I found a little open water the Big Thompson and found this one holding tight. I was almost whacking him on top of the head and barely budged. Sitting on that white rock at the right-side edge. https://i.imgur.com/P8j6gu4...

Re: SBRR encroachers
Spruce run creek gets a lot if fishing pressure so I'm okay with the stocked rainbows. Also the creek took a big impact from the quarry spill The quarry spill ,while a big deal, only affected the last part of the stream before the reservoir. There is plenty of SRC that sees zero pressure all year. ...

Re: SBRR encroachers
this is more like it... but I caught this one in the stocked section downstream from the Long Valley stone bridge. I started my morning pheasant "hunting" in Black River, until the pellets started getting uncomfortably close overhead. The WMAs are insane... I wish F&W would stock twice a week at 50/...
