Re: My wife is telling something !!!
Yeah, but you can catch more and better fish with more and better gear.

Re: Well the time has come
I use a trekking pole because I'm cheap, you can get them for $25 at Dicks. I keep mine tethered to my vest so it's there all the time when I'm wading. I'm 61, and have no desire to fall in a cold stream.

Re: who's fishing opening day ?
I go to the county park down the street and fish the stocked lake there, it's my tradition and the only time I fish with bait for trout. Plenty of time later in the season to hit the streams with the fly rod.

Re: First trip of new year
Nice pics, glad you caught some. I was out Saturday on one of the few rivers where flow wasn't way to high. Managed to stick one but didn't land it.

No wonder I can't seem to find a fish there. I'll blame COVID rather than my angling skills.

Re: Fished the Musky in Hackettstown area
Nice. I was on the Musky yesterday, could not find a fish. Remember that sections like Point Mountain TCA were not stocked this year except from the upper Penwell bridge due to Covid. Same for all the transfer truck stocking locations on that river that we stock each Friday in spring and again in f...

Re: Flows
i fished the Black River in Hacklebarney Saturday and Sunday, the only larger river with decent flows. I like fishing it at 80-90 CFS, it was at 125CFS over the weekend and was very fishable. But it's a 15 minute hike down to the river, 20 or so back up. And the $60,000 is - did you caught anything...

Re: State parks to open 5/2/20
i fished Hacklebarney yesterday. Was at the river by 730am, saw more fisherman in 10 minutes than I usually see in 10 trips. I did manage to catch fish, but way more crowded than I prefer. I think part of it is Dads that are usually doing sports and other things with kids now can fish because kids c...
