I was up last week fishing on the upper Beaverkill. Although it was high it was still fishable with some split shot. I would concentrate on the upper sections of the rivers. That's where you're likely to find some fishable water.

Planning on going out to Little Swartswood with friends on Sunday. They have an Ice Fishing Contest if anyone else is interested here is the link https://www.facebook.com/events/369021216904227/ The little lake had 8" before the deep freeze and the big lake has 5 1/2"

Keep adding split shot until you are hanging up. Sometimes the difference between a good or bad day is one split shot!

Personally, 250 cfs starts to be high for me but it doesn't mean you shouldn't try it. The good thing about the South Branch is it rises and lowers quicker than all the other streams in the area. This is one of my pet peeves. I think the internet has killed way more Trout than 3 treble hooks on a jerk bait ever could. I see card carrying Trout Unlimited members taking pictures of fish laying on rocks or up in the grass. That Trout is dead, but they're saintly catch and release fishermen. The...
