Garden State Trout

I know there was a proposal floated out there in August about eliminating the closed March>opening day period. Does anyone know if this is fully adopted and in play for 2026?

That was a rising fish caught with a dry caddis. Some midges around too... at least last weekend. Should be good once the water gets a change to come down again.

I think it will be good trout fishing spring. When I have been able to get out and the water has finally been manageable the fishing has been good including some nice rising fish. Yes there are tons of kayaks and paddle boards ect out there. Ramsey Outdoor has a concession for kayaks ect. Lots of activity. Bass bugged it a bunch when if first became public but it was mediocre at best and was better when it was not public of course... needs a state bass reintroduction of large...
