Re: High bridge Dam Tik Tok party

:D - but like you said: It's the game of whack-a-mole now. Who knows where they pop-up next.

Re: Raritan river- rough week ! 6/30/20:

I kayaked the south branch a few Sundays ago and observed this happening first hand. I'd pass some loud river parties / bridge jumping followed by locals downstream who were picking up garbage and fed up with the out of towners who were partying upstream. Sad and remotely amusing at the same time.

Re: Raritan river- rough week ! 6/30/20:

I guess the Solitude Dam got hit by the "pop-up" craze and High Bridge has taken emergency action to squash it from happening again.

Re: WMA closings

That's a shame that the division was against it because it's really not closing down that much water. I could understand that the CO's would have a lot more to do though.

Kind of shame that everyone else gets punished, but happy to hear the party is over.

Re: Raritan river- rough week ! 6/30/20:

They are breaking lots of laws from drinking (signs clearly state town owned lands and no alcohol), littering, and obviously more than 50 people congregated in a small space, even if it is outdoors. Add public urination and defecation to that list. I'm sure there are several more. [/quote] Thanks Ru...

Re: Raritan river- rough week ! 6/30/20:

I have been reading more about this current situation of late. Don't care who it is, but I prefer the small town I live in to not have "pop-up" parties of large numbers of people just showing up and partying and drinking. My question is - besides littering (which is shameful), are they breaking any ...

Re: Summer Trout

Thank you all for taking the time to respond. I figured as much, but wasn't sure if there was something I was missing. The locals I run into while fishing out of state tailwaters think I'm crazy when I tell them it gets too hot to trout fish during the summer. Must be nice.... Tailwaters by their n...

Summer Trout

Are there any rivers in NJ that remain cold enough to trout fish throughout the summer months?

Catching bass is fun, but I def do not enjoy it as much as trout fishing. Also do not have the time to head to NY, PA, or MD all the time.

Re: C&R

My favorite is when you run into people fishing at the Gorge during the hottest parts of the summer and they are excited to tell you what a great day of fishing they had.

Re: fishing nets

Fair point. I do not fish the bigger rivers and have never lost a fish that made me say "damn, I totally would have landed that if I had a bigger net." My concern is that it would get stuck on branches more than it would land big trout. I can be convinced otherwise. Especially when other members fin...

Re: fishing nets

Very nice looking purchase.

How do you guys like using the "bigger" style nets. I use the old sizes that were standard but can't seem to justify lugging around a larger one. It definitely seems like I am minority these days.

Re: Barbless Regulations and Their Pointlessness

I definitely agree with lightenup. I enjoy the added challenge and most of the trout at the KLG would would have mouths that look like swiss cheese without the regulation.

Re: Sulphurs...right on time

Bad: The "sheeple" usually stay home once they cannot limit out in an hour. I say that is a good thing. Agreed - was just saying it's bad right now since everything seems to be crowded every day right now. Wish the bridge poolers would be home already. I also agree with you Rusty and think that wou...

It's good and bad though. Good: there are still a lot of fish out there. Bad: The "sheeple" usually stay home once they cannot limit out in an hour.

Re: Sulphurs...right on time

There are people in numbers everywhere this season, but to be honest, I figured they would have the bridge pools picked clean by now.
