Re: Fly fishing show??
When the pickle guy shows up it's the kiss of death, just like the Outdoor show in Edison.

Re: Monmouth county spot burners needed
I just moved to near Toms River, won't even bother with these red cedar water creeks for trout. I pass the Toms river TCA every day on my way to work, looked at it once, I'd rather fish the Raritan river. Instead go surf fishing, or hit the back bays.

Re: 2022 Fishing Digest
I'm glad to be back to the old schedule. The Pre-opener C&R was infested with guys using Power Cheese and treble hooks and ripping those out of deeply hooked fish, it was a blood bath on most streams. Add into that all the people not practicing C&R during the opener when 600,000 trout were dumped in...

Re: S branch/main stem 12/2/21:
In order for these fish to head downstream they have to eject themselves over the Headgates dam at Duke Island Park, I have never seen this. What I have seen are many fish trying to jump over the dam trying to get upstream but the dam is too high.

S branch/main stem 12/2/21:
Fished the lower South branch below Clinton at a few spots and finally caught 1 at Three Bridges. Moved down to the main stem where I caught 2 near Duke Island Park. So I did better on NT (non trout) non fall stocked water that I did on the fall stocked South branch. One trout from the Raritan was m...

Main stem Raritan river 11/25/2021:
Fished the main stem Raritan river at Duke Island Park in Bridgewater, got 3. The river is NOT fall stocked and listed NT (non trout) by the division. Sad to think the duck pond in Edison gets fall stocked but not the main stem Raritan river. Looks like the last 60* day for a while. All fish release...

Re: Thank Shannons :
While I say a big thank you to Shannons for this. I think the timing of the stocking is poor. They should have waited until November after every googan with a stringer stops fishing until the spring and then stock the fish. These are nice fish that would hold nicely all winter but alot go into buck...

South Branch 7/24/21:
Last week Central Jersey Stream Team did an in river clean up on the South Branch of the Raritan river from side street Clawson Rd to Studdiford bridge, about 2 miles. 14 volunteers pulled about 57 tires from the river that day and were left in the parking lot. Unfortunately that night flooding rain...

Re: Lower South branch float trip 5/22/2021:
Water release come from 2 places, the pumping station that gets Round Valley water and releases from Spruce run. They release water for the water intakes in Bridgewater and also to stop saltwater encroachment near New Brunswick. I'll look for the schematic (I lost it) that also shows releases from t...

Lower South branch float trip 5/22/2021:
Floated and fished the South Branch of the Raritan river from Camp Carr to the take out just above Rockafellows dam, about a 5 hour float trip. We caught trout throughout most of the trip. Stanton Station is beautiful, saw a bald eagle and lots of life along the river banks. Through the entire float...
