VCB day after IDA..
Yes it was fishable but not wadeable though unless you had a death wish.

Streams have been completely changed..
Hunterdon Streams got pounded. Never seen such destruction. New pools created, old ones now a streambed. Stream channel used to be here now its over there. Just crazy. Capoolong and Mulhockaway were just ravaged. Wild browns are still there though and some dandy pools have been created. Some quite d...

Re: A few nice browns...
Very nice! where were you? south / central / north / NW NJ? My neighbor was at the Paulins kill yesterday near stillwater, he's a spin caster but he said the fishing was turned off for lures, he stuck with the spot / area for 2 hours, was just about to give up when another guy walked down and start...

Re: Van Campens restoration project.
See attached photo. This is why I haven’t fished that section in years. I see various races so they are all equally guilty of loving a spot to death. One can only imagine with the lack of facilities or garbage cans how much waste gets left behind - paper, plastics and fecal

Re: Van Campens restoration project.
A lot of riff raff hanging around the park since the pandemic began. Park fees would take care of many of them but alas that idea got scrapped. So we anglers and hikers are left not being able to hike or fish anywhere in peace since every lot and trail is full of out of towners escaping the cities i...

Van Campens restoration project.
It has started. Area is closed until 2022. Old Mine Road is closed probably through June. VC Brook is off limits from MIllbrook Village to the upper Glen trail parking lot until 2022. They have already clear cut a number of trees and vegetation along the creek( I snuck back there sunday to take a pe...

First trout of 2021...
Nice 48F day and good flows meant time to fish. Printed my license and headed to a can’t miss stream. Action was slow which was expected given the 37F water. Picked up 5. Apparently others had the same idea. Saw 3 other anglers which for a WTS is a lot. I had to stealth around them. Don’t think they...

Re: Anyone Been Fishing?
My parents have not left their house in over 9 months other than some important dr visits for blood work and checkups. I bring them everything I can from mail to food to prescriptions. I wipe every down, where a mask in and out of the house - even take my shoes off outside. They are very depressed e...

Re: Spruce Run Creek dam removal for native brook trout
I've caught very native brook trout in SRC. Most were around where Rocky Run joins in GG. I have fished it up to the Crystal Springs property where most of it originates. Up there SRC flows in between a series of spring fed ponds with C&R bass fishing. Beavers have hit that area hard often damming u...

Tough fishing amongst the fallen hemlocks. Found a few open spots. One nice 16' made the numerous cuts and bruises worth it.

Re: 22" Largemouth
I use a 6 foot, medium action rod with only 6 lb test. I can get much more distance on my casts with the lighter line but the trade off is once fish go into the heavy stuff, that line wont hold up. Another solid one I caught on saturday was just shy of 22" Nice 17" smallie on sunday from a Pa reserv...

22" Largemouth
Caught this nice one over in Pa on my day off. Took a buzzbait tossed near a stump. I had no scale but at least 5lbs.
