More than likely they've gotten away with it before...being caught once waz probably a small price to pay for the offenders....who knows..glad they were caught I was there that day and saw it happen. I have fished on many posted private property rivers & lakes without issue. Just be courteous & ask. I usually just go to the house & knock. Ask for permission. I tell them I'm a C&R angler. I just wanted to see if I can get your permission. 90% of the time they say no problem. Dont litter & destro...

Technically the property underneath the water is still their property. If you float thru on a vessel without anchoring. You are not trespassing.
