PB Wild brown
Unrelated to my last post. I didnt get around to exploring more of those two creeks yet. https://i.postimg.cc/QB2jvS55/image.png https://i.postimg.cc/6ybqYrHV/image.png Assuming this is wild because this is one of the State's Wild Brown Trout Enhancement streams, + I never happen to find any rainbow...

Re: Wild trout
I like the colors on that wild bow. Is the stream not known to have them and you happened to find one? How big was the brown? Did you pull any drag? Same, i really like the bows in this creek. There's an impoundment downstream of it, it's cut off from all the lower watershed. I cant find online whe...

Wild trout
I started exploring again in NJ for wild trout. So far found a new wild 'bow creek which is cool. https://i.postimg.cc/SN0YtgSg/1228231243d2.jpg I also fished downstream of a well known brookie stream around my area. I would fish the park normally but tried exploring further down in the system, nota...

Re: she's going down for the count
I've been highly critical of this dam removal for the simple reason that the stated goal for the team was to provide fish passage for anadromous fish. So why zero fish habitat restoration and only dam removal and bank sloping? Too many bad engineers with no background in fisheries or fish habitat. ...

great to see after the columbia lake dam came down, curious if some Big D trout will take more residence in the stream now.

Night fishing?
Ive night fished before for other species like striped bass, hybrids, walleye, etc. This is usually from boat or from a lighted area in a park, not too much walking around the woods or wading. Ive yet to try night fishing for trout. Usually when i trout fish i prefer daylight, this is usually during...

Re: Paulinskill by Columbia WMA
The WMA access right off 46 is back open now, it was closed for a while. I wanted to fish it in the spring after a good rain but got caught up in other fishings!

Paulinskill by Columbia WMA
Columbia Lake is no more with the dam down, and the Paulinskill runs through free to the delaware now.
I fished this part of the WMA below where the dam was this winter along with a friend and we only got 1 small trout.
Has anyone fished this recently, catching shad? trout? bass?

Re: Upper Brodhead Creek PA
supposedly big stripers in brodhead by the delaware confluence and the gorge? Maybe a spring thing when the shad also run. I dont happen to be fishing PA around this time though. In the late fall or mid winter, Ive fished by paradise creek before, there's a public park just downstream of it. Small w...

Re: never caught a trout so low on the main stem of raritan
wow bound brook. i believe the last stocking area is nevius street in raritan. or maybe the route 206 bridge? i know fish swim and move around or get pushed downstream during floods. but just seems far to me. i could be wrong though. "seems far to me" good point. The thing with the raritan too is t...

Re: never caught a trout so low on the main stem of raritan
ive caught some down by bound brook before, but more by manville. Try that run some more especially after a big ran after fall stocking and you should get some more nice ones.
IDK why but they love swimming down, and it raises the question of just how long those fish have been around for.

Re: Northern Snakeheads
I targeted them in deep south jersey, if i ever found one anywhere i normally fish I would kill them. But the times i went out to specifically target the species; I had no intention in killing them. This was in sloppy overgrown swamp water. We were catching dink young bass in the mix. Killing any in...

Re: S branch/main stem 12/2/21:
I need to partner with bird watchers and do some sort of "fish watching" and set up sights on one of the dams. Likely they are going down during high water events and might be hard to see. It would be like a split second of them flopping around exposed out of the water i figure. It's not as clear as...

I found a brown trout next week with much worse looking disease-markings, folks from PA boat and fish responded back, was seen by someone at least. not sure where they will do with it.
