Re: Who Wears A Vest?

I have a vest and wear it occasionally. I have a fanny pack as well, or a small backpack, which I use more. I just load it up with what I will be using that day. The vest hangs in the closet and hold most of fly boxes, that's really its main use. Also, I added a poll for you. Did you see the option ...

I didn't make it out over the weekend as I had other chores to do in the nice weather. Hopefully most of you got out and enjoyed it!

Re: Red Ants

Looks like they float nice! Traditionalists will hate but is it really worse than a foam ant? I dont think so. Come early summer a floating ant is a killer on the fly!

Spruce Run Creek

Does anyone know SRC is doing after the quarry crapped it up with sediment? Are there any updates to that story? Would love to see someone held accountable but I am not too hopeful that they had the hammer dropped on them.

Funny, I can't think of anything. I guess I'm either content or have become a minimalist....
Youre like me, you have enough fishing crap already its hard to find a blank spot in the arsenal!

I would love a nice 7'6'' bamboo but that is not an option right now.

Probably get me another Shimano Stella this year. I really like the 2019 look vs the old ;)
Money bags!! I have Stella 4000 that is over decade old I use for bass fishing. And by "use" I mean it sits safely in its box as I dont want to ding it up like all my other reels!

Re: stuck in a rut

Confidence is key , but the bottom line is you got to go where the fish are , you always increase your chances when you go some where you know the population of trout is high. Yes that sounds simple , but it might be a factor . Very true! I learned to nymph at the KLG. Lots of hungry fish there mos...

Re: Bamboo Fly Rod over Fireplace Mantle?

I believe bamboo should be stored similar to cigars with a steady temperature and humidity. Even in a rod tube you should leave the cap OFF so humidity cannot build up. If its a fish-able rod, my answer is NO.

Re: Fly fishing etiquette rant

When I used to fish the Salmon River in NY for steelhead more often, people would often be so far out I was able to catch steelies behind them! As in I got fish between them and the bank I was standing on! Talk about surprising someone

Re: Watch out for trout redds

How do you know those are redds ? We have them all over the Raritan river, lower North and South branch too. It seems to come from geese and ducks pounding the bottom. Because they are in trout waters. Something that looks similar in non-trout waters could be from fowl or other spawning species tha...
