Re: musconetcong gorge

brian, lets just say that dam did have a a major failure after the restoration project was done downstream at the club. would all that restoration work be for nothing? just from locals around town, i heard they were gonna truck the sediment out to a parking lot nearby and allow it dry? then dispose ...

musconetcong gorge

Re: walking in the river

must be a PIA to deal with cold feet in the winter while fishing. i have been lucky so far to have not had any problems with cold feet. fingers get a bit cold once they get wet but my fingerless 100% ragg wool gloves keeps them nice and warm.

fly rod shad

the day started smallmouth fishing the delaware river then saw a large group of shad stacked in front the mouth of a tributary. saw the shad flashing in the current. switched over to nympths and had great action. hooked a few that fell off. missed a bunch. and landed 4. this was the biggest. you can...

Re: Water

Very nice. Many say they are ugly. I disagree. If you don't mind me asking where where you fishing, not exact location? I'm going to give them a try along with Pike this Summer in the Passaic. south branch. i was walking to the spot while sun was coming up, but had no action until 9am. most likely ...

Re: never caught a trout so low on the main stem of raritan

cool. thanks for the info. i never caught a kamloop so this was my first. great fighting, like i said i thought i had hooked into a shad. so what would be the nearest club that stocks these if i caught this one in manville? Hard to say. Private landowners also stock the rivers and not just clubs. T...

Pretty cool fish, looks almost like a lake fish it's so silver.
i thought the same. the rainbows i have caught from round valley look like this but those bows are in 60-80 feet of water.

Re: never caught a trout so low on the main stem of raritan

wow bound brook. i believe the last stocking area is nevius street in raritan. or maybe the route 206 bridge? i know fish swim and move around or get pushed downstream during floods. but just seems far to me. i could be wrong though.
