Re: How are the temps
Nice looking restoration. I talked them a few years ago about joining but it's so damn far from Morris Cty, NJ that I couldn't see it feasible given my time schedule. I'm assuming with summertime temps in that range they have wild fish. Wild brookies and browns, yes. Down lower on the mainstem Lack...

Re: How are the temps
I should probably add that I regularly took water temps while on that job and they were nearly always right around 60F in the morning and maxed out at 67F in the late afternoons, and water was very low nearly every day. Historically low, in fact.

Re: How are the temps
I've been working my butt off in CT and PA, so no fishing for me other than bass on a pond in PA with deer hair poppers. We are finally getting some much needed rains which will help. I can only tell you that the West Branch Lackawaxen River ran between 60F to 67F last week and the week before.... ...

Re: Daily creel limit drops to 2 trout today
Hello, It’s been along time since I posted any thing. But looking at how much water is in the streams I have to post something. The Ramapo one of my first ever to fish when I was a kid. Right now you can probably walk across it without getting your feet wet. The only thing about low water in all of...

Re: Daily creel limit drops to 2 trout today
It is time to wet wade for smallies! I am flying back to NJ from Mozambique this weekend for a few weeks and I hope to hit the Big D once for smallies. I am also heading out to Mount Hood Oregon for a summer ski camp with my daughter-I hope to find some trout streams out there! Tons of nearby trout...

Daily creel limit drops to 2 trout today
New regulations in effect starting today. No more than 2 trout can be kept in General Regulations waters starting today (June 1). The idea is to keep more fish in holdover waters for early Fall when temps drop and anglers once again focus on trout.

Re: Map's
I I only knew one guy who was skilled enough with arcgis to do this, he actually put together some local Atlantic county maps ( I had a printout, this was in the early 00’s timeframe, ) but haven’t talked with him in years and I don’t think he has the interest in doing a project like this. Would be...

Permethrin. Pants tucked, or gaiters. High socks and pants tucked is a better look. One can always blouse like the military does. Shower and tick exam at the end of the day. I got lyme's a few years ago. It sucked, but caught early is treatable. Usually following the shower after rule is the best w...

Re: Ticks
IF you have a deer tick on you go to the medi center and get the mega dose of doxycyclene. If you take it quickly it will prevent lymes. I had it about 10 years ago and was told this by the infectious disease doc. Just and FYI, once you take the meds if you have it you will test positive for it for...

Re: Map's
We live in an instant gratification society these days. Nobody wants to put in the work to find good fishing (or hunting or anything else). Nowadays, people want to click a site and have all that information in their hands. There are commercially available sites (apps) like the one you have listed f...

Re: None of this crew is excited about opening day???
My Son tried the Toms yesterday, said the tree damage from the winter storms is everywhere. No room for even a roll cast. He saw only 2 others and they were walking out complaining :o Doubt if it will get cleared as I am not aware of any canoe/kayak rentals for that river anymore, the annual canoe ...

Re: None of this crew is excited about opening day???
My only fishing thus far in '26 has been ice fishing. I plan to get out at some point this week, likely over in PA. Hendricksons are starting to hatch on local rivers and streams. Hey Rusty, with your busy work schedule/traveling just wondering which streams in PA are worthy of your time? I fish Mc...

Re: The salt...
Seems they are now catching them out front in boats and not just the back bays and rivers. Had a buddy out in his 23' Tidewater yesterday and they landed 10. Not on fire, but ten is a good number to start out with for the new season.

None of this crew is excited about opening day???
I will be working in CT myself, so no RVTU Opening Day Shenanigans if they are holding it this year for me. But I expected a few to mention it. Off to Mass. tomorrow for some survey work. Hope many of you have plans to get on the water soon.
