Not too far but those aren’t Atlantic County :D
That is as close as I could get for easy access. Although there is the fishing per and boat ramp on the Bass River, a tad closer.

Re: The salt...

Yes over winter guys have just mentioned looking for them in their “wintering holes”. Some of the guys know these creeks like the back of their hand. The old “Collin’s cove” used to be a go to spot for shore bound ice fishing, back when such winters happened. Honachefsky did a show on the Mullica a...

Re: The salt...

I found the most reliable spots are where creeks and rivers enter the bay. For the Toms, north or south shore, that would be the Huddy Park area and any stream that enters the Toms downstream of there, quite a few places to select from. Best bait is grass shrimp if you can find it; I use UL with spi...

Winter Trout Fishing Seminar

State held one this past Saturday close by in Jackson so attended. Good turnout, we don't get much attention south of 195. Just basic stuff, 1 1/2 hour, given by the last person I would have expected to give a trout seminar, one of the Captains of the Gambler party boat. Guy was good, knew his stuff...

Re: Orvis hard times....

Ramsey Outdoor There's a name totally forgotten by me. Used to be Campmor on the way up to the 'dacks, stop at Ramsey on the way home. Might just head back up there, looking for special waders/hip boots for my Son. The only fly stuff here is the Atlantic Saltwater Flyrodders club in Seaside and the...

Re: Orvis hard times....

The world most of us knew growing up is almost completely gone, but that doesn't mean totally forgotten. Yep, fly shops used to be like bars in Bayonne, every block had one. Now where is the closest to where you live? Zero in a 30 mile radius where I am. The internet shops are at my fingertips.

I stopped Quail hunting in 2014 when my Brit checked out at 16. Raised and trained them for about 15 years. Local tackle shop, Hook House, hunts with Brit's.

There was one off RT 73 in Marlton along with a large LL Bean. Orvis closed maybe 5 years ago, Bean is still there.

Re: Where's the rain??

I'm afraid It has been so dry the ground will just soak it up, very little will find it way into streams & rivers.
