From F&W. "The middle parking area of the Ken Lockwood Gorge WMA, accessed from the north, is closed permanently due to irreparable road conditions. The dirt road along the river will remain open to foot and bicycle traffic. Walkers and bicyclers should use caution when traversing this stretch of ro...

Re: It was WORK & was worth it

I will always have a fond memory of one day on the Lamar River in YNP, just above Lamar Canyon in early Sept. I was wet wading, air temps in the high 70's, and upstream about a mile from fishermens pullout, doing well with hoppers. I hear a 'what are they taking', look up and there is a guy standing...

Re: Central Jersey Recommendations

I have to try saltwater on the fly, would a 5 wt rod work? There’s some cool marshy back waters in my town I wonder if I should give them a try. Get an 8wt. High Bar Harbor is a great place to start; easily fish the inlet side and the bay side. This club provides some very good info, worth joining ...

I am also from Ocean county; not much within an hour. You have the muddy Manasquan and a few lakes/ponds listed on F&W web site. Further north is the lower Raritan. It is striper time here and blues soon

Re: Van Campens restoration project.

The odds are a little more in natures favor in Yellowstone. I have watched people bring themselves and their children with in single digit feet from Elk and Bison, some of those people get sorted out by the wildlife...idiots!!!! :D In the 20+ years I spent time out there, that hasn't changed, but g...

Re: Van Campens restoration project.

There is plenty of water to fish in the NRA on both sides of the river that see little to no people at all. The area your discussing is a weekend spot. With the closure those folks will probably find somewhere else to roost. Just carry bear spray; if it gets unbearable and the wind is right a short ...

Re: Montana or Northern New Mexico?

Great question. I have been retired for 20 years this June, can't believe its 20 already. Got a 7am call from my boss one day, thought it was a problem being that early. He asked if I wanted a 'package'. A package of what I asked, a few minutes later my answer was yes. A week or so later my boss, a ...

Re: Pre Season Catch and Release Peroid

Watched a cable show on NJ saltwater fishing, Saltwater Underground, and they featured the White Perch in the Mullica. If it warms up a bit, maybe a lot, I mig...
