Re: Ticks

Best tool I have found to remove embedded ticks, gets the entire tick out, nothing left to infect.

Re: Map's

I I only knew one guy who was skilled enough with arcgis to do this, he actually put together some local Atlantic county maps ( I had a printout, this was in the early 00’s timeframe, ) but haven’t talked with him in years and I don’t think he has the interest in doing a project like this. Would be...

Re: Ticks

It is that time, do not take chances. I had Lyme and use this, permethrin, on clothing only, year round, kills them instantly. You do not want the bulls eye. https://www.sawyer.com/product/permethrin-fabric-treatment-insect-repellent-24-oz-trigger-spray https://www.mosquitosquad.com/franklin-framing...

Re: None of this crew is excited about opening day???

My Son tried the Toms yesterday, said the tree damage from the winter storms is everywhere. No room for even a roll cast. He saw only 2 others and they were walking out complaining :o Doubt if it will get cleared as I am not aware of any canoe/kayak rentals for that river anymore, the annual canoe r...

Re: None of this crew is excited about opening day???

Vance, the GIS map the state has is a big help this year as it is easier to find location's closer to home, pretty surprised with the number, but none close by have any boulders in the off color water ;) There is always the Toms. A fellow from PA put together a very nice map for that state. NJ - htt...

Re: None of this crew is excited about opening day???

Not much crew left here :(
I wait until the week after stocking ends for the locations I like. I have to drive too far to wait in a line. ;)

Not too far but those aren’t Atlantic County :D
That is as close as I could get for easy access. Although there is the fishing per and boat ramp on the Bass River, a tad closer.

Re: The salt...

Yes over winter guys have just mentioned looking for them in their “wintering holes”. Some of the guys know these creeks like the back of their hand. The old “Collin’s cove” used to be a go to spot for shore bound ice fishing, back when such winters happened. Honachefsky did a show on the Mullica a...

Re: The salt...

I found the most reliable spots are where creeks and rivers enter the bay. For the Toms, north or south shore, that would be the Huddy Park area and any stream that enters the Toms downstream of there, quite a few places to select from. Best bait is grass shrimp if you can find it; I use UL with spi...

Winter Trout Fishing Seminar

State held one this past Saturday close by in Jackson so attended. Good turnout, we don't get much attention south of 195. Just basic stuff, 1 1/2 hour, given by the last person I would have expected to give a trout seminar, one of the Captains of the Gambler party boat. Guy was good, knew his stuff...
