Re: Funeral service?
I really do not know. Lots of flies, lots of names. I just tie them thinking a fish will find them appetizing. I had a cabin on the W Branch of the Ausable in Jay NY. Fran Betters was a neighbor. He once told me, tie what you think will work, it usually will. That is how most flies came to be. It wa...

Re: March Browns?
I have a box of flies with the hook cut off for the 'special' places. Mellowed with time.I am decades beyond needing to catch fish to go fishing. I prefer the challenge of matching the hatch and watching trout feed on top.

Re: big flatbrook CFS
The Toms is finally down to fishable level and is scheduled to be stocked on Monday. My Son fished it this morning, did well. Difficult wading, lots of downed/sunken tree's. The high water has caused big changes. There won't be many, if any, canoers this spring. He kept 1 of 7 for the table, all st...

Re: big flatbrook CFS
Hi 46er, I have never fished the Toms but have walked along it. It isn’t very wide with a lot of bushes along its bank and it was slow moving. I some times Take a ride up to the south branch and fish way down from the gorge or up to the Musky and fish the TCA. Have not fished either river this year...

Bill, I am on the south side of the river in Pine Beach, been here 36 years. Have you ever tried the Toms; aesthetically not what I consider a trout stream, but nice and close.

How far south, I am near Toms River. My trips north are around the Musky/Pequest/S Raritan. Further north is an overnighter for me.

Re: musconetcong gorge
You have to slide down the mountain and make your way to the dam like a billy goat. & its a tuff wade. As I did it from the dam down to the mill on the private side in the river. Took all the juice out of me when I got back to the car . I have to take a 3 hour nap just to drive back home  . Fo...

Re: A PSA about your PSA
I'll be 77 in 9 days  but who's counting. Several treatments were discussed including removal and seeding, with my urologist and with the group at Sloan. Given the small size and location, the reason the first biopsies were negative, all agreed radiation was the correct way to go although the...
