Re: Game Warden in action

Fishing in Yellowstone backcountry, Grebe Lake, out of the tree's walks a anger, asks to see my Yellowstone license and I point to it on my vest. Out of habit I used the vinyl pin on thingy. His response was, "What a great idea, we should do that here". I guess the grass is always greener...

Random question. Is a picture of the front and back of a license on one's phone legal?
Says it must be 'visibly displayed on outer clothing'. Click the 'More info' tab.

Plans are in the works to build a shopping center and homes on that property, one of them a Bass Pro Shop.

There used to be trout as well, may still be. A bit upstream is a parking lot for launching.

I have not been up to Stephens in a very long time. I wonder if the opener is still the same at Saxton Falls?

Want to get out at some point soon but will probably head to PA to fish I think I will be doing the same. My Son moved to PA last year, almost walking distance to the upper Lehigh and several small Brookie streams in the Pinchot SF. Only issue I have is once I cross the Delaware I become ...

Re: Bird Flu going to effect trout spot closures ?

Perhaps. There have been some cases In Hunterdon County for cats, one had to be euthanized, several feral cats were found infected, more are being tested. This will not be going away anytime soon as bird migrations are just beginning. Certainly not the time to take up bird watching as a hobby.

According to the Center for Disease Control, who fearlessly led us through covid, there have been 4 cases of bird flu in humans in the United States which were mild to moderate in degree. Also, according to the CDC bird flu is widespread in the wild bird population. There have been no deaths or sev...

With the ice gone, White Perch are readily available in just about any creek/river running into a bay. Fun catching, good eating; took home 5 yesterday afternoon thanks to some short lived nice weather.

They are a good place to get youngsters started. I was more curious about similar endeavors on streams/rivers. Closest thing I know about is for the West Branch of the Ausable if you use a guide from the Hungry Trout for their 'Dream Mile'.

Re: How many private trout clubs in NJ ?

I'm surprised no one has started a 'pay to fish' set up, similar to the pheasant/chukar/quail hunting preserves. Used to be a few for private lakes/ponds around the state, and there was Eldridge Preserve in the Catskills, but it's gone upscale.
