Re: Catfishing from the Bank

I tried hotdogs once and they kept slipping off the hook every time I casted. How do you keep them on the hook? Chicken liver is super effective because of their strong smell, but damn they are messy to handle. Gotta stop using those dollar general hot dogs :o    Chicken livers just ...

Re: WMA closings

You guys are talking about two different Sunoco stations....route 30 at the Fish's Eddy exit is the East Branch and the one below Horton is on the Beaverkill. Your rite Rusty. I was referring to the sunoco @ fish's eddy. I think the other sunoco is near the town of the roscoe exit :?: There is no s...

Re: WMA closings

That is the sections I fished underneath that bridge. It has a parking lot adjacent to it. go over the bridge & the parking lot is immediately to the left. The suncoco gas station is sitting @ the end of the ramp from RT 17E. The river has a left hand hook turn @ that point. Perhaps I just named it...

Re: WMA closings

Ive fished there a few times Good guess but no....it starts at Horton bridge which has horton brook flowing in on the downstream...

Re: fishing the west branch upper delaware this week

Nice looking fish. I have only fished the upper Delaware system twice a long time ago, but somehow its not my kind of water. Lots of it look like featureless still water to me. That said, I am sure I would be convinced the first time I caught a 24 inch wild rainbow on a tiny dry fly. I caught a 26 ...

Re: WMA closings

Actually NY has summer temp closures also on the Beaverkill. Don't know of any other NY waters that may have them though. Those are a little different in that they are thermal refuges off limits to fishing for a specific time period. Hoot Owl closures happen based on weather and not dates and are c...

Re: WMA closings

If you truly care about the resource ,trout fishing should have stopped almost a month ago!!! Just sayin....there are exceptions to the rule but , why if there's a chance of fish mortality

Re: Warren Glen Musky

The state had nothing to do with removal other than permitting oversight. The Hughesville Mill dam used to be a couple hundreds yards below the Warren Glen Mill, and that dam was removed by the Lower Musconetcong River Restoration Partnership. That dam was removed a few years ago. I happened to hav...

Re: Big D spot burning

I always used to target them from columbia to the water gap. I remember using a variety of dodgy cut outs to park along route 46 on the NJ side as well as from the PA side near arrow head island. Either way, you pretty much have to go through some prickers or a faint little trail down to the river....
