Re: An awful lot of black dots
Fished a local pond this morning and watched an Osprey steal a fish that an angler was playing. Unable to free the fish from the Osprey, the angler cut the line and the bird left with the fish, some line and a bobber. Unfortunatly I don' t think it's going to work out well for the Osprey.

Re: Who fishes the Lehigh River here ?
I was initially introduced to the Lehigh with a group that was taken on a guided tour by someone very familiar with the river. If I am not mistaken, Twism was part of the group so perhaps he will have some insight to add. I have only caught trout in the Lenigh but I understand there a good smallmout...

Re: Who fishes the Lehigh River here ?
I have fished it several times and I would say it is a long, large river with difficult wading, fluctuating water levels due to water release from, upstream dam, considerable annoyance from summer time tubers and an association dedicated to stocking and improving conditions on the Lehigh. Unfortunate...

Re: Has anyone here fished the Little Lehigh in Allentown ?
Before I moved there in 2008 there was a sewer line constructed that closely followed the river and also a bottle water company was withdrawing a significant amount of water daily from the river. These were at least some of the reasons for the river's decline. Pretty sad.

Re: Has anyone here fished the Little Lehigh in Allentown ?
I had one epic day there following a flood that allowed numerous trout to escape the hatchery. There is another artificial only stretch several miles upstream but with a few exceptions the stretch is quite shallow and uninteresting water. Rarely would you see anyone else fishing there.

Re: Has anyone here fished the Little Lehigh in Allentown ?
Until 6 years ago I lived about a mile from the artificial only stretch thst starts at the fish hstchery and ends at a covered bridge about a mile downstream. The river has a reputation of being a fantastic fishery years ago to one that has declined to the point that it is barely worth fishing any m...

Re: Saucon Creek in PA
I can highly recommend getting a copy of Trout Streams of Pennsylvania by Dwight Landis. It is a comprehensive book covering most streams in Pa but most importantly will provide directions to and point to the better parts of the stream to fish and make your explorations much more productive

Re: Fall Stripers
Yesterday I fished at LBI but that wasnt good with a raging surf and tons of seaweed on every cast. Nothing happening at the inlet either. Havent fished locally much lately mostly because of the weather. Think the big fish have left, leaving mostly shorts which usually stick around intil we get a de...

Re: Fall Stripers
Been like that in Monmouth County for weeks but based on the last couple of days it seems that the main body of fish have finally moved South. Last couple of days here have been small fish with a keeper a rareity.

Re: Fall Stripers
Perfect day yesterday at Sandy Hook. Flat ocean, no wind, warm day and bunkers and stripers in the wash and no boats to put the fish down. Fish were there from daybreak until I had to leave around 9 oclock. Mostly keepers with a few shorts mixed in. It doesnt get much better than that.
