Probably the only benefit of being 75 years old: no license required.
I don't consider it a benefit.
It's not only an insult, it's age discrimination.

Re: Andy B

Andy Brasco (screen name Andy B) was a wet fly specialist.
Especially good at Bergman style flies.

He stopped posting at NEFF in 2013 when Beetle was posting a lot of nonsense.
I haven't heard anything since.

Re: Idiot Governor Ignores Science, Bans Bear Hunting on State Land

Have you ever read any of the anti-hunting Facebook pages (especially the ones about bears)? That isn't politics, it has all the trappings of especially intolerant religion. If they could get their way, there would be an inquisition, burning at the stake, torture, stoning, beheadings, and especially...

This was already explained to you during the McGreedy/Corslime era.
Am I the only one who remembers?

People in "Bear Country" vote predominately Republican.
Democrat Governors want the bears to eat all the Republican voters.

The anti's don't think he went far enough, and are expressing regret for ever supporting him.

Re: WTS surprise tenant

American eels can slither out of water and over dams very easily which is why we see them well upstream of even the largest of dams in rivers connected to the ocean. We had them spilling (more like slithering) out of the bucket up in Hampton on the Musky many years ago before either Finesville Mill...

Re: Musky "A Frame restoration" project starting soon

Wait, what? EPA stopped the project because of Native American weirs? I thought I made it clear that I was going slightly "off topic" with concerns about a different river. I believe google earth/maps has a time feature so they can see if the weir existed in previous years. If the weir had historic...

Re: Musky "A Frame restoration" project starting soon

Question (I'm thinking about a different river): Some of those handmade weirs/dams look (kind of) familiar. If a local group/enclave, with some claim to native American roots, asserted that they were made by their ancestors.... If the dam is degrading the river, does the ethnicity of the dam builder...

Is this a private event? Sounds pretty awesome to me. I have a nice bamboo rod, built by J. D. Wagner, that I pair with a Hardy St. George, is that snooty enough, can I come? I can't speak for the host, but when "Ronbo" was still active at NEFF, I got the impression that anyone who was enough...

.....Grind them up in a meat grinder, add some shredded potato, and bread crumbs. cheese too if you like. I'm not necessarily endorsing this. It's a lot of work, and you have to kill a lot of fish. I had an aunt who did a lot of entertaining. She would deep fry hundreds of small sunfish fillets and...

Re: Late spring - summer fly fishing

We should be trout fishing on most waters safely well into June this year. Too soon to say if much beyond that until we get closer in time. I personally use 70 degrees F as my cutoff limit as that is more the norm than 67 or 68 F. Some clubs go as high as 72, but I know from science that any temps ...

Re: Dangerous hip waders

There are felt sole kits available in many tackle shops. Depending on your boot, you may have to separate the "heel" section from the main sole. A synthetic carpet scrap might work just as well as felt, and you won't be paying "fishing tackle" prices. The conventional wisdom calls for "Barge Cement"...
