I'm not familiar with the area, but is it a possibility that the fish swam up from a lake into the river? Perhaps that means it could have been stocked large and grown larger. That fish looks like it feed off pellets and fish shit. Like the giants in New Zealand that sit down stream from the salmon ...

Thank you Brian.

The Gorge and FB No-Kill stretches; do they remain open to fishing year round or closed from 3/15 thru 4/1 ?
My question also.

Re: It won't be long now!

Chickens eat ticks also...you better have a ot of quail, guineas, and chickens to control ticks. Although helpful they will never get them all. Anyway, it's starting to thaw and spring will be here before we know it.😀

Did you see it was -20 in Montana with added wind chill? It's a nice place to visit in the summer and fall, but live there? Hmmmm. Arizona is nice I hear.

Re: Ice fishing this weekend!

I'm all set. My five tipups are all set as are my two jigging rods and all the associated gear sitting in my Jet Sled awaiting a nice cold morning tomorrow. I'll be out on a private lake in West Milford where I grew up with my life long buddies drinking Irish car bombs and catching largemouth, pick...

Re: Recommend a 3wt for Bluegill

Orvis makes a kid's fly rod. I bet it would be loads of fun with blue gills, although, they are snooty fish and would prefer you use a nice bamboo rod :D

I had an Osprey take a fish I was casting to in the meathole a few years back. Scared the crap outta me...Apparently it hung out a few days and stole fish off lines.

I don't even know what sealed disc drag is, the reel is the only one I've ever used and its an Orvis Clearwater reel that I bought 25 years ago when I was in high school. Straight up miracle I was able to land this one without it. Time to upgrade man. You're getting into some whoppers now... Pretty...

Re: Winter Stockings

The KLG was stocked in the Fall. I was there a few days after the stocking, the water was extremely low and it was pretty obvious that there were new fish in the river. I think the question now is was the KLG stocked privately only or did the Division also stock it? The division stocked the upstrea...
