Re: SBRR wild browns marking coloration

So, here is a wild trout from the SBRR... notice the red halo around the adipose fin, and the red line along the bottom of the tail fin. The spots are pretty "normal" for a brownie. The fish posted in the picture looks like a stockie from the Hackettstown hatchery...they are very distinct in appear...

No need to do more than this unless your ego demands a fish holding "hero shot".

Re: Casting lesson

Now is a great time for you to get into fish. swinging wet flies is easy on beginners, you just need to learn basic roll and flip casts, a little line management, some easy line mends, and you'll be into fish. The strikes are pretty obvious too so you won't be overwhelmed learning the sometimes Zen-...

Here it comes

Good weather today brought warmer water temps and hatching bugs! I got 4 and turned at least that many. Hares ear wet and PT did the trick. The flows are good and the fish are on the fly. The strikes were just savage, no dainty 6x tippets for this.

Re: Introductions!

I'm me, same as I've always been (yes I'm still all those things all those dudes like KLG called me.......and f'n proud of it). Still practicing the dark art of the cane rod. Still in the last best place in NJ. I'll turn up from time to time on the Musky, Pequest, SBR, Rockaway, unless I'm running a...
