Re: fishing the west branch upper delaware this week

Nice looking fish. I have only fished the upper Delaware system twice a long time ago, but somehow its not my kind of water. Lots of it look like featureless still water to me. That said, I am sure I would be convinced the first time I caught a 24 inch wild rainbow on a tiny dry fly. I caught a 26 ...

Re: WMA closings

Actually NY has summer temp closures also on the Beaverkill. Don't know of any other NY waters that may have them though. Those are a little different in that they are thermal refuges off limits to fishing for a specific time period. Hoot Owl closures happen based on weather and not dates and are c...

Re: WMA closings

If you truly care about the resource ,trout fishing should have stopped almost a month ago!!! Just sayin....there are exceptions to the rule but , why if there's a chance of fish mortality

I mean who drags a gas grill down to the river ! Not condoning the garbage but a gas grill makes that party that much sweeter!!!.....like I said before , garbage is the only problem I see....if the folks involved were capable of leaving it the way they found it, than I would be willing to bet that ...

Re: Warren Glen Musky

The state had nothing to do with removal other than permitting oversight. The Hughesville Mill dam used to be a couple hundreds yards below the Warren Glen Mill, and that dam was removed by the Lower Musconetcong River Restoration Partnership. That dam was removed a few years ago. I happened to hav...

Re: Big D spot burning

I always used to target them from columbia to the water gap. I remember using a variety of dodgy cut outs to park along route 46 on the NJ side as well as from the PA side near arrow head island. Either way, you pretty much have to go through some prickers or a faint little trail down to the river....

Cool. I thought so. I was looking at Google maps and guessing it was cool to check out, but always cautious too, especially being alone. https://www.ebaumsworld.com/videos/trespassing-fisherman-gets-shot-at-by-angry-property-owner/86296004/ If internet things like that worry you,,, fill the tank an...

Re: Summer Trout

Speaking of smallies on the big D near the musky, I took a ride early the other morning. I started in carpentersville and drove down stream until the next little town. Then I returned to carpentersville, 08865, and followed the river up stream to belvidere. It was a cool ride but there was one smal...

Re: A new honey hole for me on the Musky

Where was the smallie float?? I went to Harpers Ferry on Saturday and I had high hopes, but couldnt key in on them. I got two, but 20 or 50 fish days are banner days...Apparently smallies dont eat the two weeks after spawning and flows were a bit high with lots of swimmers/tubers/kayakers, so i wil...

Always did well in that stretch along the road. Also got my biggest Musky smallie right around that bend. The smallie was out. I had hooked into a few small 1's. I LOVE the way they peel off line :D :D Exactly why you should consider switching ur target specie this time of yr....just sayin I had a ...
