Re: Shannon's One Fly

Question you gotta ask yourself , do you wanna be the guy to tie a mop in front of those youngsters ? And if you win do you wanna be the guy who won with a piece of mop . That's between you and your God. Heavy is the head that wears the crown of the one bug .
I support you either way !

Re: Who Wears A Vest?

who here fished with those crappy old zebco closed face button launchers....might have been the worst reel ever made. I was 5 and knew it stunk....still had fun though. 😁 Nothing has hurt fishing license sales more than those Dog Shit reels ..... I'd give up fishing if that's all I had ... I'm sure...

Lee Wulff invented the fishing vest , if it's good enough for him , it's good enough for me .

Re: Gorge stocking

Best hatch I've ever seen in the gorge , was an epic flying Ant hatch that spanned from above Hoffman's right down thru the gorge Happened in June after a early afternoon thunderstorm ... Never seen anything like it down there . And if your ant didn't have wings they didn't want it ... From then on ...

Re: Gorge stocking

I find the stretch Pre-KLG to be more enjoyable to fish. From Shannon's down to the bridge. Yes its not C&R protected. But 99% of the guys release the fish anyway. & Shannon's stock alot of niceeee fish in there for all to enjoy. I lmao sometimes when I see most of the guys down in the KLG  ...

Re: March Flytying Madness This Sunday 03/24 at the Pequest

All in all it was very successful event , 75 total tiers attended , all 10 New Jersey Chapters of Trout Unlimited were represented , 2 Pennsylvania Chapters were represented , and I think the approximate number of flies was way over 2000. Some really generous tiers went above and beyond donating hun...

Re: March Flytying Madness This Sunday 03/24 at the Pequest

How late does this go? Can we just show up with a vise? Bring materials or are they already there? I may have an hour or two in the afternoon. It goes to 3ish but you don't have to stay the whole time, bring your vise some materials whip up some flies and leave when you want , even is you wanna jus...

Re: Sink Tip Fly Line

Thanks all for the replies. I was thinking our streams may be to shallow under normal conditions, needed others thoughts experiences before investing in a sink tip line. Need to sleep on it. I have a spare reel, may be worth the investment for the Upper Delaware. I see some really inexpensive sink ...

Re: Sink Tip Fly Line

Also depends on your streamer , is it weighted , then you probably don't need a sink tip , but unweighted streamers a sinktip may be great .... I see both options unweighted streamers will move natural , and can be stripped in slower using a sinktip... While a weighted streamer , you may have to re...

Re: Gorge stocking

KLG is over rated imo. Those trout there are pounded on a daily basis. The trout must get tired of getting a new hook into mouth everyday. Maybe 2-3 times a day. Ive watched as many as 10 guys fish the same exact spot after each other. Yes. The place is picturesque. But between the dog walkers that...

Re: Gorge stocking

Nothing says confidence booster like catching 18 just stocked rainbows in the gorge on a neon green mop ..... PS: when they stocked brookies in there , the first few days guys would catch 40 ..... When the state stocks a trout in the gorge , they get maximum return on they're investment. Catch and r...

I heard they are no longer stocking the Gorge. They reallocated those trout to the Manville section of the Raritan.

I love a good call back .

Re: Stocking

That salmon is frozen, or wild caught right out of the runs they farm them in... :D  I can't speak for Whole Foods, but my Shop Rite always carries both farm raised salmon (Atlantic salmon, often raised around the world) and wild caught salmon, typically from Alaska. You pay more for the wild...
