Tropical Storm Aftermath
Amazed to see what the high water from Isaiah did to one of my favorite holes. The deep water spot was partially filled-in by stone, gravel and sand-- and the adjacent log-jam that had accumlated around a HUGE toppled tree with attached root-wad--had been completely cleared-away and carried far down...

Re: Big D Smallmouth on the fly suggestions?
I know the smallmouths are in the Delaware. I've snorkeled down the river and have repeatedly come across them. People say they are everywhere in the Big D...but I have yet to connect with them. Many of the tips from martalus sound helpful. Thanks for them!

Re: Water Access Points Map
Oh, boy, here we go, picking apart your admirable effort...but I have to inform you that your #62 does not match the described location. (There actually IS a F&G signed access point with dirt parking lot just across the river bridge (North Side) from where you have #62 now (on Valley Rd./Shurts Rd.)...

Re: Water Access Points Map
It turns out I was looking for your #64 just yesterday--but failed to locate it based on the sketchy directions given by the Fish and Wildlife listing. Your map takes the guess-work out of locating it. Great--and thanks!

Re: Tippet rings - thoughts?
Would someone explain the "furled leader" idea? I was using tippet rings just last night on the Delaware and my sighter and tippet seemed at one point to get all twisted up. Is that what the "furled" is about?

Re: Boiled trout
I'd wonder if that "boiled trout" wasn't just mis-handled or fought to exhaustion in warm water? Like you, I'm trying to have fun now with the warm-water fish--smallies and whatever wants to play.

Re: Cut-off temp for summer trout?
I appreciate the input from all on this. Apparently, the SBR is "about there" on temperature. I miss the trout--but am trying to transition to fishing flies for smallmouth for the time being. I find smallies from time to time in the SBR below Clinton, but have yet to really connect with them to a sa...

Cut-off temp for summer trout?
New to this forum--and an enthusiast of limited experience--so I want to ask: What water temperature is considered the high cut-off point for trout fishing?
