Brian, if you can shoot his FB screenname over to me PM or email (both should be good here), I'd appreciate it.Rusty Spinner wrote: ↑Wed Dec 19, 2018 10:25 amAndy is alive and well on Facebook which is where most of the fishing talk has migrated to over the recent years. He's not fishing as much these days.

Re: Andy B
I recall Andy really getting into music , I think blue Grass .... I also recall him selling some of his fly tying stuff on another message board . But yes extremely talented wet fly tier . Wow, I work in Mt. Laurel and am into bluegrass. Surprised I haven't bumped into him yet, as I'm friendly with...

Andy B
If I'm recalling correctly, wasn't Andy B someone who used to tie classic wet flies (seem to recall him
recreating Ray Bergman type wet flies)
If so, anyone here from, or run into, him anymore?

Re: Trees, trees and moe trees....
Hi, How come when I’m fly fishing there are no trees around but as soon as the trout start to rise all the trees come down along the stream side and all you do is catch trees. Does anyone else have this problem? Everyone have a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year. Bill the mailman. PS. I have not caugh...

Re: Fly fishing etiquette rant
When I used to fish the Salmon River in NY for steelhead more often, people would often be so far out I was able to catch steelies behind them! As in I got fish between them and the bank I was standing on! Talk about surprising someone  While salmon fishing the SR, I caught rainbows (not ste...

Re: Wild NJ Trout
A tungsten beadhead hare's ear nymph tied on a barbless size 16 jig hook. I really like the jig hooks for the small streams, rarely get hung on on bottom. what hook do you use? something like the Umpqua U-Series U555 Jig Hooks? BTW, sort of unrelated, I'm in the market for info on the best "stocked...

Re: Connetquot Brook Trout and Toms River
I'm part of the misremembering thing also, it comes with age. It was salters for sure. By the way the striper fishing has been excellent the last few days in Monmouth County in a very rough surf. No keepers but seems several year classes are here with fish ranging from barely 12 inches up to about ...

Re: Connetquot Brook Trout and Toms River
To give an idea of the holdover potential of the Toms we electro fished about 100 yards of the TCA on Sept 5,2007 which was prior to the Fall stocking and 4 months after the last Spring stocking. We got 39 brookies, 18 Browns and 1 rainbow. Also a catfish, 3 pickerel, 1 lm bass, darters, sunfish an...

Re: Toms River
I am told that there is action on the top in the evening. I have fished the Toms over 100 times over the years but never in the evening. I have caught fish on top but very few. Because of the size of the river and the surrounding trees and brush, fishing on top is difficult but not impossible. Fall...

Re: Big Striper

I'm sitting at home (well, work right now) getting old. John, still want to hit the Toms...
