Re: South Holston/Tuckasegee Rivers
The South Holston holds 5,000 to 7,000 trout per mile, so great fishing. It's a honey hole in winter when our rivers are frozen over largely. I have three buddies that guide there and they are always trying to get me down there. Thats a hell of a fish count!! 7000 fish per mile would also be 1.3 fi...

Posting for Mary Paste Goldman, MWA trustee Hi all! As many of you know, the contractor's work at Hughesville was completed last week and now we have 270 trees and shrubs that must be planted onsite. I am coordinating a volunteer planting event for Saturday, 9/28 starting at 9 am at the Hughesville ...

Re: Traveling with Fly Fishing Gear
Hey Garden Hackle. Thanx for ruining my day :D . From the United website:United is not liable for damage to fishing equipment. Our stuff is pretty well protected, and this statement also applies if it is damaged in the overhead compartment. Like with everything else there are risks that need to be ...

Re: Traveling with Fly Fishing Gear
Late to the party, as usual. My experience is different. I have had TSA make me check carried on rods. I have had this happen in Newark, and overseas (Ireland). After it the second time it happened, we purchased fishing travel luggage. TSA lists rod holders as approved for carry on. I would print t...

Re: Traveling with Fly Fishing Gear
It got tossed in Newark, by a Russian TSA agent...he said, and I quote..."dis could be veapon in hands of person"....I thought my friend, and yours was going to punch him, but cooler heads prevailed... Did they give you the chance to leave the line with the item to mail it back to your home? I know...

Re: lost rod/reel
I hope it shows up, some people are honest. I got introduced to NJTROUT after finding an expensive outfit while walking the KLG one morning. I put up a sign and the owner contacted me and described the outfit right down to the fly. We met and he shoved a bunch of bills in my hand and would not take ...

If the bottom line is “don’t take shit that doesn’t belong to you” (I agree 110%), the second to bottom line has to be, “don’t leave stuff for scumbags to steal”.

Re: NJ Stockies
Yep, that's why I like throwing streamers. The strikes really get your heart pumping! Throwing streamers is like cheating, you know when you got a strike and most times they hook themselves. It’s like dry fly fishing, the real talen is nymphing. Nah, nymphing is just worm dunking with feathers and ...

Re: NJ Stockies
Fish an articulated streamer like a Sex Dungeon or Drunk & Disorderly which have stinger hooks on the back and your short strike issue nearly disappears for good. I find a lot of NJ anglers fish nothing larger than a size 10 woolly bugger, but don't be afraid to toss a much larger streamer here loc...

I believe there is now an app for that, but the phone number still works.

I always buy online and print 3-4 licenses in case I lose one or forget to bring one. Plus, I always save the email and license so I can reprint them.
