Re: Best wading boots

I guess personal preference does play a part , but I fish weekly and the ultra light simms paired with rock treads have been pretty good so far . Two seasons they have been pretty good.

Re: Net Rig

I keep it ultra simple: I don't use a net. Translation to English: "I never catch big fish, so I don't need a net". I don't know if this will vindicate me or land me in even more trouble! Rarely have I seen anyone put a rainbow trout in a cobra clutch ala Sgt Slaughter. Did the trout su...

Re: Net Rig

I only starting using a net like 3 years ago and used a magnetic release. I liked it but had to be careful walking through thick brush cause sometimes it would snag on something and come off but I'd usually always notice it. Well, I lost my net a few trips ago fishing a WTS so I had to order a new ...

Re: New Member: Euro Nymphing Equipment Advice

The 10ft or 10ft6 or 11ft rods are great for indicator fishing to , so don't think your locked into euro nymphing with those rods . I like the long soft euro rods for delicate dry fly fish as the protect the tippet better. I'm not really a euro guy , but I'd recommend Trout Bitten blog , anything Ge...

Re: Need a Crash Course on Spring Flies

I would just add that besides all these great suggestions , get a few hares Ear nymphs without the bead. In a pinch you can float them in the surface film as a caddis pupa or a floating nymph/emerger , so it has dual uses . Also scuds scuds scuds after the Sulphers that's kinda what's left on the me...

Re: Van Campens restoration project.

Look it sucks but for me Van Campers is strictly a cold weather / weekday destination . I know they can't ...... Again I'll say , I know they can't but I love what they did on the broadhead . Parks system is for residents to use and PA fishing license holders every one else can use it but it's 10$ a...

I just hope this winter killed alot of ticks
Winter has zero effect on tick populations. They are all crawling around in the leaves beneath the snow, waiting for a hapless critter to walk past. Wish it weren't so, but winter does not kill ticks one bit.
That's a real downer

Re: Winter Stockings

Point being if you like stockings , all kinds of stockings , i don't judge , buy some stockings from Shannon's , cause I remember winters when there where no stockings , and they were cold ... PS I see on other boards people enjoying the stockings , I hope they appreciate where they came from .... ...
