Re: Wild Brook trout
This thread got me motivated to give it another go. As has been typical for many years now, nothing but Fallfish and Sunfish. Grabbed one of my softer Tenkara rods with a dry fly and hit the streams headwaters. Had to switch to a black Kebari. The dry was getting hammered, and I got tired of drying...

Re: Any New Toys Purchased or Waiting on Delivery?
Found the reel I was looking for to match up with the rod. Wanted to keep the rig American made and Orvis. Got lucky and found a 4/5 Orvis Madison with a rare spare spool, and suede Orvis reel case at an amazing price. Christened the rod this morning with a decent brown in the first run. Water was 6...

Cacoosing Creek Tributary to Tulpehocken - Dam Removed
Anyone who fishes the Tully, I heard the dam on the Cacoosing was removed, and there was no sediment control, it all went down stream with lots more work to do that will stir up even more sediment.

Re: Any New Toys Purchased or Waiting on Delivery?
Yea, I can see how a high end machined, and hand assembled spinning reel would cost more then a high end fly reel. Lot more going on internally, that is for sure.

Re: Any New Toys Purchased or Waiting on Delivery?
Well, one post on topic. Not much into spinning gear, however cool looking reels Troutman. I still have a small Zebco from the 70's. It looks and operates great, I'm sure not as smooth as the new reels. I'll occasionally take it to a reservoir this time of year to see what is cruising close to the ...

Any New Toys Purchased or Waiting on Delivery?
Sites been slow, and so has fishing for Trout, so I thought I would start a topic. As for me I picked up a new Orvis SFG 3-weight. Waiting on cool temps and higher flows to break the ice with it. Little light for the WB, may have to get my PA license, and hit a limestone creek if I can't hold out.

Re: The cats meow of fishing net holders !!!!
Looks nice. I use a folding net when I need to net them, for the most part I use a release, don't even touch them.
This is something new if you haven't seen it.

Re: Shannon's sale on items over $100
Did anyone pickup a new toy? I called last week to see if they had any 7' to 7.5' 3-weights in stock as I'm about an hour away. No luck. Not in the market for anything else that would go for $100.00 even with the huge savings. I have more than enough stuff to go through I'm not using - LOL

Re: Shannon's sale on items over $100
Headed there next week now when I get back. Will buy a rod and reel. Better get there quick. I was there a couple of weeks ago, and was shocked how lacking of just about everything the store was. If I recall correctly there were maybe a half dozen fly rods. I was there yesterday and the fly rod wal...
