They should do what PA does and cut the time they stock in half but do heavy stockings and do the stocking for opening day and then 4 other stockings with the remaining trout

Now I can't fish for two weeks in the early spring...I kind of enjoyed being able to fish the stocked waters for C&R. I guess it's back to harassing wild fish during that period... weenies No kill stretches of stocked streams are open year round, and they hold wild trout...Just saying. Yeah they al...

Friday overall the ice fishing bite was DEAD!!!

So we didnt get any trout through the ice. Tried a few different baits and nothing

I do like the preseason catch and release but you see so many dead fish from people gut hooking fish with bait.

A good change would be artificial only during the preseason to hopefully see less dead fish.

some later May stockings will be good once the bugs really start going

Fishing a private lake tomorrow that has trout in it so not worried about state fish.

Just looking for general knowledge

Any one here have good experience catching trout through the ice?

Any recommendations on baits and what depths work best for catching trout through the ice?

I was always wondering about that river

Nope not 2022 yet but did catch my last trout of 2021 last thursday

I would stay with Sims waders and get the best ones you can afford for the amount of time you spend in the river during a year. 180 days is alot so maybe some the guide level sims waders
