Re: Pa brown coughs up its last meal...
Funny thing is the stream is full of food. If you lift any rock, there are dozens of Epeorus mayflies, Stenoma maylfies and lots of caddis. I guess he wanted fish for dinner!

Re: My largest wild brown of the year...
I have seen some larger 14-18 inch trout in small streams with 'deep' pools of 3-4 feet deep, but they usually dont have bellies like that. Does that trout have access to a larger river that he fattens up in? Nope. The lower portion of the creek has an impassable dam. Most wild brown trout waters c...

Pa brown coughs up its last meal...
Hit a poconos stream earlier on Sunday. Nailed a few nice browns including the very brown brown below. While fighting it, it regurgitated its last meal - a 6" brown trout. So maybe add a 6" trout colored rapala to my repertoire?

Re: My largest wild brown of the year...
Thats a heck of a brown with a healthy looking belly, especially for what looks to be a really small stream. How deep is that pool? Looks to be lots of obstacles to climb over/get snagged on. Pool is about 4 feet deep. Its a small stream - maybe 4 miles or so long. And yes its quite the obstacle co...

My largest wild brown of the year...
I caught a beautiful 17" wild brown caught in a stream I had not fished since hs. It was a stocked stream when I was a kid with a few wild browns. Eventually more and more posted signs went up and stocking was eliminated. A few years back some land was acquired by the twp so I decided to finally giv...

Re: India Brook mischeif
This sort of chicanery goes on a lot of private property that the public doesn’t see. A few years back I was at a Hunterdon WTS when I decided to ignore the trespassing signs to explore a little further downstream. A few hundred feet away from the border of state property, I came across a dam, a str...

Re: India Brook mischeif
I was there about three weeks ago. I made sure I stayed on the twp property and gave the middle finger in his direction. He’s got a camera there so I just wanted to say hello.

Re: State parks to open 5/2/20
NJ Angler will be happy though, the state parks are open and it might cull a few more of us that are diabetic, asthmatic, fat, out of shape, cancer survivor, or generally genetic weakling. The kind of people he said reap what they sow I do have sympathy for those who are vulnerable through no fault...

Re: Leaky Water Towers along a WTS
Looks like just rust to me. I often wondered every time I walked by them when not if they would remove them as they appear to be way beyond being useful. I'm also wondering if the impoundment a little further up will have its dam breached one day. Has some nice bass in there. Years ago they blocked ...

Re: Breached dam and wild brookies in peril in the Lamington/Black River Watershed?
They can co-exist but given the tiny nature of this stream, I doubt browns would completely take over so lets not exaggerate the impact of the browns just yet if the dam crumbles. Bear in mind nearly all the BIg Flat Brook tribs are trout production waters and about 99% of the wild trout are brookie...

A few nice wild bows...
12” wild bows are not common so I was excited to catch two solid fish.

Well this virus is killing quite a few, the Gov't is killing a lot too. I'm talking about killing our spirit. Our Souls. Our Faith. Our Freedoms. Our Rights. You kill those, life does not exist.

Re: All state and county parks closed!
It will have a domino affect..close Worthington, Stokes and High Pt and those people will now move up into the DWGNRA which is open -for now. Blue Mt Lake/Crater lake parking lots will be a popular spots as will be the VCB/Watergate areas. They will be closed within weeks I guarantee it. If people d...

Re: All state and county parks closed!
The Covid "deaths" for most countries have not been confirmed. These are patients who died and tested positive pre or post mortem. This does not mean they all died because of Covid. People die - millions - every day in health care facilities and hospitals. Many have underlying conditions any of whic...

Re: All state and county parks closed!
All reminds me of the barbed vs no barbs arguments as if it made any noticeable difference. Natural mortality will always the # killer of trout not a #2 Mepps spinner.
