Re: Rancocas creek (again)
Wow!! That cat is really purdy!! Those are 2 different cats. One was about 17 inches one was about 10. They are very silver and blue in that creek. Gorgeous compared to the Round Valley amd Delaware cats I usually see. They fight hard as well. I was using artificial blood worms, made for salt water...

Re: Streams have been completely changed..
Where the quarry did their SEP (Secondary Environmental Project)? The small park in Glen Gardner? Yup.. The one we were speaking about last fall...it bowed a bit outwards in the middle and that is where it failed... I stopped by late last week. All three structures, two cross veins for the heads of...

Re: Streams have been completely changed..
I got a call from a landowner adjacent to a section of the Capoolong we restored for the Division several years ago. The river widened itself by up to 20'. That is amazing for a river that averages maybe 20' at its widest. Ida is now the flood of record for many watersheds here in trout country, NJ...

Re: Rancocas creek (again)
I know of Medford Park, Laurel and Vincentown pond/lake, with public access. F&W has an online interactive map or list, with species list. Atsion Lake in Wharton SF is about a 20 minute drive from Medford; pickerel, bass, perch, sunfish, catfish. Any cranberry bog on state land will have pickerel i...

Rancocas creek (again)
So no one is answering in "other fishing" so I'll try here. Going to be in Medford for a few weeks later this month and into September. Anyone know good access for catfishing, bass, carp? I found a park on Medford where it is a tiny creek. I'm looking for a little bigger water and bigger fish. Lots ...

Re: 60 Degree Temps in July
I wet wade a lot for trout and especially smallies. I dont mind getting wet, but I do find it annoying to get sand/pebbles in my wading boots/old tennis shoes. Any tips on preventing that? Wet wading socks. They are just like your waders neoprene boot, but have a piece that folds down. Keeps all th...

Re: 60 Degree Temps in July
Nice to see the heat wave end. Any trout left in the areas of the SBR around me should be happy now..66 degrees and dropping.
Sounds like a nice day. I may get out Monday if the weather holds.

Re: It's warm.
Now it's downright hot. I would expect trout are dying in some areas and tomorrow will be worse. SBR hit 80 degrees today in High Bridge. Probably a couple few degrees cooler above Califon and through the KLG...ugghhh.

Re: Tippet
I don't use either , but id say the difference is like playing 9 ball and Pool . You want alot of S in the tippet after you shock the leader ala George Harvey , then orvis is your brand . You want something a little stiffer that's gonna turn over no issues , your a Rio guy . Personal Taste . Rusty ...

Re: Tippet
There is a big difference between RIO and Orvis...use them next to each other. Agreed! Orvis sucks!!! I wouldn't say it sucks...I wouldn't say Rio sucks, but Orvis is definitely more supple and stretches a bit more, actually the perfect amount. That was a well thought out and informative response R...
