Re: Trespassing
Lol nah that's not me. That's what came to mind once you said quarry since I always say "damn, I'd love to fish there" every time I pass it. There seems to be more signs and cameras there than Fort Knox.

How did you know the story of my life?Rusty Spinner wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 10:31 am
nearly all anglers is that they want to learn how to dry fly fish, but they seldom have time to be on the water during hatches, don't understand what is hatching and when, or just don't have anyone that can instruct them.

Re: State parks to open 5/2/20
I was putting my stuff away at my truck after fishing last week when some guy walks right up to me and says "do you mind if I ask you some questions about fly fishing?" I responded with "sure, as long as you move and stand 10 feet away." He looked at me like I had three heads. He then moved on to ch...

Re: State parks to open 5/2/20
It'll be great if this ends up spreading people out. I fish closer to home on the South Branch in Flemington when time is limited and I've been amazed at how many people have been fishing this area. Parking areas are packed with people everywhere. I'd go to the Gorge if I wanted this experience lol.

Re: SBR on Shannons stretch
Both the KLG and the parts from Hoffman up are beautiful stretches, however, I agree with everyone else about how busy it gets. I'll still fish them a couple times a year, but generally avoid them. The KLG gets quickly unbearable with the amount of people that show up there.

Re: SBR on Shannons stretch
Almost everyone practices c&r in that stretch as well. I've never seen it, but there is apparently an older local that gets really worked up when he sees someone with fish on their stringer.

Sorry for the confusion. I got my answer. You can check the GAP's website for up to date info.

Re: All state and county parks closed!
Is the DWGNRA open? I heard they closed off some important roads within since they ran through state parks.

That is one of my concerns. Will fisherman get greedy in the beginning and impact the later months?

Re: Fly storage
Appreciate the tips! Long story short. The summer temps are here and my dog just got a surgery. No trout fishing or running dogs for me at the moment. This has me tying a lot of flies. I figure I won't have lost time to tying once I can get out on the water again or in the fields to get more pheasan...

Fly storage
Forum has been quiet - so figured I'd post a question to get some conversation going.
For those that tie their own flies - how do you store them? I have found it difficult to find cheap flambeau like boxes where each storage compartment is the same size. It drives the OCD in me nuts.

Re: Summer Time Fishing
I try to make a few trips to the tailwaters I fish, but other than that, trout fishing comes to an end for me until the fall. The family and I have taken to Kayaking so I try to catch some sunnies and bass on the 6wt while we're out. Other than that I am putzing around at the vise watching Tim Flagl...

How will you spend your time fishing now that the heat is here? Another type of fishing? Tying flies? Cutting the grass?
