Can't give you a species, but most likely some sort of stonefly.

That is what I was thinking but wasn't sure. Couldn't believe how many there were.

Can someone help identify what these insects are? They were all over the shoreline of the Delaware river on Sunday. I didn't notice them on the water but the covered the shoreline.

Went to try the Delaware river for shad on Sunday but didn't even get a strike. I decided to run over the Big Flat Brook and try for some trout. The weather was great and surprisingly the river wasn't too crowded. Ended up landing 6 rainbows with one real nice one that is my personal best for NJ. Al...

Can't wait to throw some deer hair frogs I have from my fly rod for bass. Warm weather can't come soon enough.

I agree with lightenup, it was probably scud. Also as he stated the color varies from light to dark on different sections of the river.

Great to have GST back up and running.
I like all kinds of fishing and fish mostly in northern NJ. I wade fish, kayak fish, surf fish, basically if it swims I try to catch it.
