Guys beg for rain to have high flows. Well here it is. Deal with it Lighten up. It was meant as humor other than my struggles with typing which were unintended humor. Actually I'm looking forward to this coming spring and summer to see if we have improved insect hatches given the much improved wate...

Re: South branch fishable flows?

The only dumpling spot that I know that was close to the SBR in that area burnt down. That stretch has alot of fly fisherman there.

Re: Big Flatbrook 11/1

Come on now, the majority of poaching comes from the spin guys. Amusing part is I have fished in the same river as fly fisherman. I have witness them keeping a stringer up to the limit. I as a spin angler released all mine.... Hmmmm why is it amusing, you are talking about someone legally catching ...

Re: Big Flatbrook 11/1

Poaching occurs by spin & fly fisherman. Its absurd to think 1 is better then the other. Just as fishing etiquette for both. Its the fisherman. Not the method he uses to fish Come on now, the majority of poaching comes from the spin guys. Amusing part is I have fished in the same river as fly fishe...

No skill in waiting for a stocking truck to dump off fish. It was a poor display of sportsmanship

Not one person complained when they threw Broun Trout in the Manasquan river for 20 years. Put them in the Raritan and they suddenly become food for Striped Bass, why is that ?
Who's complaining ?

It would take a pretty big striper to take down a 18-20 inch rainbow. An 8" stocker on the other hand..
Seen a few big strippers hanging @ the musky outflow to the big D waiting for these lost souls.

Re: Question

I just watched a few of the video's. Those images must "REALLY" hurt some of you fly fishing guys :o . But just to let you know. Not all of us string up fish, mishandle fish, use bait, fish over 70 degree water temps. Some practice same etiquette as fly fisherman. We just use a spinning rod instead ...

I'm not familiar with the video you are referring to. The Musky can grow some big trout if you can find places they aren't all yanked out on stringers.
Agree. You just have to put your time into the river to find those out of the way spots. And dont be one of those stringer guys

Re: Columbia Dam removal

My personal opinion is remove all man made dams that do not longer serve a purpose. Bottom release dams are best if thats whats needed for flood control. I fished the U. Delaware when they release water. There is always weed debris flowing @ that time. So that tells me that very little silt build up...

Columbia Dam removal

Read a article a few weeks ago about this dam slated for removal. This will open up the river from the Delaware for some native species to go up the Paulingskill. Now with that obstacle out the way. Wonder if the dam near Blairstown will be next ? . You guys feel its good or bad that these dams will...

Re: SMB

Smallies pull and fight harder then lmb imo That's not even remotely challenged by any angler. Smallies pull a heck of a lot harder than stocked trout as well! Moving/cold water will always increase the fight in whatever fish live in those waters over warm, freshwater water fish species. Agree. The...
