Re: Raritan river- rough week ! 6/30/20:

PA had this problem , local authorities put fees on the parks for out of towners . On the broadhead you can party , follow all the laws and before you step out of the car $10 a person . Free if you have a PA fishing license.

Re: Summer Trout

Pohat ,Musky , Pequest & Lopat all have some limestone influence . There are a couple small tailwaters .... Everything is fishable if you wait for the right weather window and check your temps .

Re: C&R

I'm not going to count them but I'd say the over / under is 7 .5 anglers in the klg at 4:30 pm after the rivers been cooked all day.
And yes I've walked it in the evening on a hot day and guys are very impressed with themselves , can't figure out why it's not crowded

Re: Upstate NY

Thanks RS. Not making it this week, maybe next. i need new fly line. By then it should just be sulphurs although Isos may mix in. Bug Week can be very frustrating when they key in on one life stage of a single insect and nothing you toss at them works. The Delaware always rewards the fly tier , you...

Re: How many others

Hello, Just a quick question. Fished the Ramapo last evening. Got there around 4:00 PM and the place was packed with cars at the Glen Grey bridge. So I waited around and finally started fishing around 6:30 or so and there was a hatch starting and the fish were feeding on top and by 7:30 or so they ...

Re: Spinners

There was a huge spinner fall in the KLG last night. My dumbass didnt figure it out until the ride home. Caught a few on sulphur duns, but only saw a few bugs hatching. When it got dark there were swarms of big spinners, guessing eastern gray drakes and sulphurs. I was leaving then....such is life,...

Re: Spinners

Doubt they were eastern green Drake spinners . Maybe sulpher spinners ...remember the spinners are bigger than the duns . So the big sulphers that come off early are a #14 the spinner could be a #12 ... That's a big dry for the south branch

Re: Barbless Regulations and Their Pointlessness

So it looks like most people here fish barbless because it’s your own personal preference, which is fine. Fish how you want to fish. I still don’t think we need a regulation for it when it does not prevent excess fish mortality. Getting a hook out of yourself easy is a good reason for you to fish b...

Re: Barbless Regulations and Their Pointlessness

Yea I fish barbless cause I want to take it out of me easier , but I don't have much of an issue losing fish because barbless hooks , if I do chalk it up to operator error .

Pulling that sulpher out of that box and giving it to him , is great you walk away knowing you did the right thing and maybe started him off on an amazing journey . He walks away thinking your some crazy fish whispering shaman that haunts the KLG

Re: truck chasers disappointment

I was a fool ! Do not underestimate truck chasers , on my ride home they littered my local stream . Chains with sardine sized rainbows dangling , they must have hacked the Pequest . They where there before I got my email .
