Re: Vest or waist-pack? (And what about the net?)

I was a diehard vest guy for trout fishing until maybe 2 years ago. I went through 3 vests in my life, the cheap cotton one my dad bought me in the 70s, a Columbia, and finally a Patagonia (Pataguchi). I wore them all out and finally went with a William Joseph chest pack. Best decision of my fishin...

Flatbrook was Ripping

Against my better judgement decided to fish today. Was not safe to wade but flowing fairly clear, couldn't get across to the opposite bank of where I usually fish, and definitely not conditions for exploring, so did the best I could. Opted for the Tenkara rod and managed two trout on a squirmy varia...

Spent some time up at Tightlines today and went with a sling pack. It seems to fit everything and the net hooks nicely at the top. Psyched to put some hours on it.
Cool...Which pack did you get?

Hares Ear Nymph – size 10 – 16 w/ and w/o beads. Natural, but a few in olive or black would round it out. Fish anytime / anywhere – dead drift ...

Re: Vest or waist-pack? (And what about the net?)

Secure the net to a belt and slip the net handle between the belt while fishing.

1000 brown trout from that short small brook as it drops thru HB seems a little far fetched. Curious at to the time period myself.

All on spinners Cappy, I am getting my fly rod for fathers day this year. Dying to learn the art!
It can be frustrating at first, but loads fun and addictive once you get the hang of it.

Re: Flat Brook - 3 Bridges

MikeB...I recommend you read up on the subject, visit the NJF&G website (see links below) and go from there. There have been many major changes this season that everyone fishing for trout should be fully aware of. The fly fishing only sections are no longer, they are now artificial only, barbless ho...

You need to find an alternate for PB. Doesn't look like the new site allows local hosting of pics. Try tinypic or postimage

Barbless is the way to go, pinch down those barbs. Makes it easy.

Beautiful pics and nice Trout. Looking at the make up of the stream bed from the pics I can guess at the stream but will refrain. ;)
