Re: Is this your car on the WTS?
LOL... I saw him parked right there the last time I was there a couple three weeks ago. I caught a 20" brown in that hole under the now-gone deadfall tree a few years ago. Maybe 20 years ago or more there was another one similar upstream a ways that always held the biggest, baddest brown in the riv...

If you are in the area and have some free time, it is definitely worth the effort.... not a destination river (or area) though.

Re: Provo River UT
thanks guys. I spent all day on the Middle Provo and picked a few, some with big size. I had a brown about 20" to net twice, he ran both times then the hook pulled as I was getting him to net the 3rd time. Picked a couple small browns, and a big whitefish, easy 4 pounds. The fish of the day tho was ...

Heading out to Utah for a meeting later this week and am going to make some extra time for myself. Have any of you guys ever fished the Provo River?

nothing overly dramatic, at least in the publicly accessible section. I did catch and release a real nice rainbow on Sunday.

Stalking Sandpiper
I was in my deer blind late this afternoon and saw a funny sight. The blind is literally right on the bank of a WTS, and a sandpiper flew in and landed on the opposite bank and immediately started stalking something. At first I thought it was actually going after a squirrel playing on top of a big e...

Re: lamington river old damn removal
Is this upstream or down stream from Fiddler's Elbow? I have an invite to fish there this weekend and wonder of it will be all silty. Yes, I am going with a blueblood;) Downstream. But it's close enough to collect a bag of golf balls any time you fish this area. Right now I have a pin on the ...

Re: UK wild browns
well as cold as it was, it had to be spring-fed, so I would say yes. Fortunately, it flowed through the grounds of the resort where I was staying, so no need for a special beat permit... just a visitor license.

UK wild browns
A bit late reporting but I made a trip to the UK back in August for work, and I brought along a rod just in case I had a chance to sneak in some fishing. I stayed in Castle Combe, which I did not know at the time I booked is this tiny old Charming English village, featuring..... an unstocked stream ...

Re: Ok it's cool enough , we can officially talk about trout again
AFTER I do the Burnt Mills dam removal project, of course :D :D Are you talking about the old dam that has been just sitting around and letting water run around it and eating the bank? I havent been to that part of the lamington since spring. How is the progress on it? Or Should I just take a look ...

Re: Ok I jinxed it the weather is gross
I can't believe how low the Black?Lamington and the SBRR and my little WTS have gotten the past month. I had really thought all the rain we had the past year would have given the aquifers a charge to handle a dry end of summer.

Re: Traveling with Fly Fishing Gear
Just made a trip to the UK... carried 8' 4-pc rod/case, reel, and fly box in my backpack both ways with no issue at all. The rod case stuck out of the backpack about 8 inches.
