Re: Winter Stockings
Point being if you like stockings , all kinds of stockings , i don't judge , buy some stockings from Shannon's , cause I remember winters when there where no stockings , and they were cold ... PS I see on other boards people enjoying the stockings , I hope they appreciate where they came from .... S...

Re: Winter Trout, Anyone?
If it effects the bugs it effects the fish . Not just talking about emergence , just movement or river migration , bugs move . I'd wait til the warmest part of the day .

It's not 100% but what is? But when you see the dots on a brown trout starting to connect closer to the tail , it's usually a stocked fish .

Re: Muddy Water
The pequest hatchery bows are fall spawners so maybe , but they move around for other reasons too . They are forced to spawn in the fall so it fits in with the hatcheries time table . Wild , native rainbows spawn late winter/ spring . It's a whole can of worms but yes the hatchery rainbows in NJ spa...

Re: Bent hooks
Depends where I'm fishing .... In jersey on little wild fish or stocked fish , yea bend it back . But at a higher quality destination with bigger stronger fish , just toss it and tie on a new one . Again this is where the fly tier is rewarded . A tier knows the hook he used and it's quality . You ne...

Re: TMC 518 size 32 hooks wanted
Really hard to get , they no longer make them . I would check eBay , I luckily found a package not long ago , just to have . But years ago I did hook and land a few fish on them . It's a wide gap hook which helps .

Re: CBS video on fly fishing's growing popularity during Q-tine
I forget which Yellowstone book , but it mentioned wolf sightings in the Thorofare section of Yellowstone even before theyer reintroduction into the park . There are photo's I have seen, taken by Kevin Sanders, a guide in MT I know, of wolves in Yellowstone back in 1992. He was working with Busch P...

Re: CBS video on fly fishing's growing popularity during Q-tine
The more I think about it. Where can you go that man has not left its mark :?: You can get pretty close in some of the places out west. The Thorofare section of Yellowstone has been called the remotest area in the lower 48, the only foot steps have been from Native Americans, early explorers and ba...

Re: WMA closings
I think thats the tail end of the beaverkill that dumps into the east branch of the delaware that has that thermal refuge. its closed to fishing during the summer months. Ive fished there a few times [/quote] This would be a very good place for a thermal refuge as the catch and kill guys are there a...
