Re: stringer culling etiquette ?

No, not legal and the first thing you do is call the game thief hotline. That number is 855-648-8477.

Re: Apps for weather and flows

I used to use weather1 app, but a guy retired and the reports are not as, is at all accurate anymore, not I use WeatherBug, simple and effective. I go to USGS for flows... The River Data app pulls all of its data from USGS gauges, but you can list favorites and it has each state listed and in each ...

Re: Apps for weather and flows

I use River Data for my IPhone and I use several weather apps because I find so many times, one or more is wrong. When in doubt, I go to My Radar which is my # 1 weather app.

Re: good flows for stocking/spawning season

Things look pretty good for this fall season with all the recent rain. Any recent fishing reports? Unfortunately I had almost percent of my fishing gear stolen (fly rod, UL and M spinning rod, vest, boxes of flies/lures, etc) so I haven't been out since my NC trip. That sucks about the stolen gear!...

Re: Off the beach

False Albacore and Bonito are off the surf along with some Bluefish. Fall is here. :D I was out Sunday but offshore to maybe 8-9 miles out. We had Albies, but only very small Bonita and no blues. Tons of frigate and chub mackerel and even a 10' hammerhead in our slick for a few seconds that was coo...

I Hope you were dry fly fishing. Beautiful photos.
Mostly, yes. Oftentimes, our best action came when we skittered the dries on top. Wild brookies can't ignore a skittering fly.

Went on the Sea Tiger II yesterday morn for a1/2 day trip with the wife and a friend, all told, I had 1 short and 2 Robins, the wife got the skunk and my buddy had 3 shorts...it is slow picking, I believe only 3 keepers on the boat....Nice boat, nice people, I wish the fishing was better. I fished ...

NFC adds Maryland and Arkansas state chapters

The Native Fish Coalition is continuing to grow rapidly. The message of native, wild fish is a simple and uncomplicated one, and it seems to be resonating throughout the country. NFC is now up to 17 state chapters spanning Maine to Alabama and most states in between. We are seeing some support from ...

Re: Bamboo rod repair

A second for Dennis Menscer, but as noted, he's upstate on the lower WBD. He used to do business through Shannon's and come down monthly, but I'm not sure if that relationship has continued since Jim's passing. But he makes and repairs bamboo.

Re: Who here center pins ?

Personally, I could care less how others fish 1) so long as it's legal and 2) so long as it's not over the top of where I'm fishing. As soon as a pinner starts to drift over where I'm fishing, I reach for this and force him to lose some line....

Re: Who here center pins ?

No thanks. I was next to one of these things once. he thought the whole river was his, drifting many many yards in front of me and others.... Nope, not for me. I saw a couple of guys on the Flatbrook and Musky center pin fishing. Might as well just use spinning gear unless you're on the really big ...

Re: Headed to NH's White Mtns for brookies

Looks like heaven! How big did the biggest brookies go? Looks like they are in the 14-15 inch range. Was the water cold? Trick photography :D Biggest there isn't any larger than 11" or so. Water temps depended on which river or stream you were on, but my Kintrex gave me readings between 61F and 64 ...
