Re: Big D spot burning
I always used to target them from columbia to the water gap. I remember using a variety of dodgy cut outs to park along route 46 on the NJ side as well as from the PA side near arrow head island. Either way, you pretty much have to go through some prickers or a faint little trail down to the river....

Big D spot burning
Speaking of smallies on the big D near the musky, I took a ride early the other morning. I started in carpentersville and drove down stream until the next little town. Then I returned to carpentersville, 08865, and followed the river up stream to belvidere. It was a cool ride but there was one small...

Re: A new honey hole for me on the Musky
I put in at Willy's and took out at Penwell once. Not long, but decent water after hippo rock for the most part even in summer. Got threatened by a beaver in front of Columbia Too.
People pretty much drag their boats through the TCA. Its embarrassing for everyone involved.

Re: Upstate NY
This was my third or fourth visit. I got line today, boots earlier this spring and tying materials in between:
1. Call with exactly what you want and credit card in hand.
2. Pick it up the next day. Just makes it less stressful.

Re: Upstate NY
My club lodge is near tomennex. Fun place to fish. I stumbled on some shady dudes and their camp site there once. Calling Shannon's tomorrow to get my line sorted and hope for an evening next week.

Re: Upstate NY
Thanks, Vance. I'm thinking Tuesday. Maybe I'll drive up just for the evening. My hunting club has not opened the house in L.V. yet so it'll be a turn around trip.

Re: Sulphurs...right on time
I haven't been to Pt mnt since this began. It is ludicrous when I drive by, which is frequently.
I wasn't fishing far, though, and was completely alone.

Sulphurs...right on time
Went to the musky and threw some sulphurs. Fish were on them right quick. Snowshoe emerger and a dry did the trick, both size 14. Got fairly active around 4:30. I stayed an hour and I think it was getting better. Tomorrow I'll stay a bit longer.

How difficult is it to get a Turkey permit? I'm guessing it's too late unless I see one in the yard.
