Spend the money. Buy a Bauer..you will never need to buy another reel ever.
What if you misplace it, and your significant other can't find it for you.

Re: Suggestion for a new reel?

I would recommend the Lamson Liquid.

Why sealed - muddy or salt water? Lots of choices if you rule out a sealed drag.

I assemble a fly rod where I park, doesn't take long and I enjoy it. Tenkara rod is rigged when I leave home.

As previously mentioned, midges work this time of year. Also any small brownish nymph, 90% of what a trout eats year round is roughly 3/8" long and brownish.

My understanding of a "navigable waterway" is - the waterway is used for commerce, transportation of people and or goods, and are the jurisdiction of the federal government.

Glad to see some of you are catching Trout. Last time out I hit the Flatbrook in several locations with no luck.

Nice size brownie, although as you stated it does look thin.

Anyone Been Fishing?

Wondering if anyone has been out after the rain. Was thinking of heading out this weekend, however Saturday supposed to get 1" to 2" of rain into the evening, so Sunday most likely not a good day.

Re: How has the KLG been recently?

To quote Yogi Berra " Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded" Agree, stopped going there a long time ago, well I may go once in the middle of Winter. It is a nice location for pocket water fishing. I would assume right now the water is very low as are all our streams, however there should be s...

Re: Fished the Musky in Hackettstown area

Nice. I was on the Musky yesterday, could not find a fish. Remember that sections like Point Mountain TCA were not stocked this year except from the upper Penwell bridge due to Covid. Same for all the transfer truck stocking locations on that river that we stock each Friday in spring and again in f...

West Branch Flow from Reservoir to Drop to ZERO

Below is a report from the WBA. What does a zero flow, even for a short time do to the river and the resident trout, and trout heading up to spawn? 10/5/20 Today is starting out mild, in the 40’s, with a bit of cloud cover to start the week. Flows are still pretty low overall due to the dry conditio...

I may be able to fish Sunday or Monday. Are there any fish left alive in the Califon area of the SBR? Haven't been out since early June. It was a brutal summer. Temps look good for the next week though. Good times!!!
I think you should give it a try and let us know how you did. ;)

At the risk of alienating some, furled leaders are for those that can't cast. There, I said it.

Would someone explain the "furled leader" idea? I was using tippet rings just last night on the Delaware and my sighter and tippet seemed at one point to get all twisted up. Is that what the "furled" is about?
