Garden State Trout

Hit the Green Brook in the town of Green Brook for a while today, didn't catch anything though, maybe next time.

Through the fish at ladder at the Island Farm Fish Weir all the way up to the Headgates dam.

No mention of fish, fishermen, trout or Trout Unlimited. No mention of dam removal etc., just a lengthy discussion on climate change.

We used to get lots of these all over the Raritan river, then they stopped stocking Brook Trout and it all went away.

How many anglers will be heading to Ponderlodge pond in Cape May or Birch Grove Park pond near Atlantic City this winter to catch stocked trout ?
Or better yet Furnace lake where they stock Muskellunge ?

How do you know those are redds ? We have them all over the Raritan river, lower North and South branch too. It seems to come from geese and ducks pounding the bottom.

Maybe we should make the upper Raritan river a "NO Kill" stretch. If that were to happen we would get spring AND fall stocked trout, much like the KLG
