Re: Is this the new fly that everyone is raving about ?
What ever happened to "fly" fishing"? We are supposed to be representing aquatic insects in all stages of life, not a canned corn kernel, I mean, I am even against egg flies and squirmy worms. Fur and Feathers only, maybe some carpet material....Ya'll should go back to powerbait and worms... :D :D ...

GST Fishing Camaraderie Day 5/22/22 @ the lower KLG
May is a magical time to fish in NJ. Anyone who's interested in establishing some GST fishing camaraderie, please arrive at the lower/South KLG lot https://goo.gl/maps/bXRPxQK7YCvLTnLz6 by 9 am Sunday, May 22nd. If you own a bamboo rod, feel free to fish it--that's what I'll be doing. Hope to see yo...

Hardly. These responses are making me think back to the 'Boofests from years ago. Drossi, Rollcast, and whoever else out there with a bamboo rod--let me know if you want to hit a stream together.

The taper is a Payne 98 which the builder tweaked just a little. It's a 4 wt.

Re: Unnamed Brookie WTS
A funny thing happened on my way back to the parking lot. Three young African Americans were walking towards me. One was wearing an Easy E t shirt. Now depending on when you grew up, you may or may not recognize that name. If you don't know, Easy E was known as The Godfather of gangsta rap. He died ...

Unnamed Brookie WTS
My family ventured out today to a trail where my sons rode their bikes, my wife went walking, and I brought my bamboo fly rod built by Bernie Elsner. It is a beautiful two-piece seven foot three inch rod. I tied on a small white Cahill and had a blast on this unnamed wild brook trout stream that is ...

Look at the trees and plants in the picture everything is green. Thats the early spring not now I agree, look at the yellow bloomed bush in the background. I'd bet that picture is from late April. Some of the trees have buds as well. That's a Forsythia, means the Hendrickson's are hatching... That'...

Beautiful looking fish. I lived right around the corner from 2000-2006 and would hit that stretch whenever I could. The outcropping of jagged shale combined with the hemlock trees makes you think you're up higher north than Bridgewater.

Re: First visit ever to VCB
I figured I'd snap a pic or 2 of the fish I would certainly catch later on in the day and of course I never caught another fish after that. You know, I have this weird photography superstition that I follow while on the stream. I never take pictures until I've caught fish because I feel like I jinx...

Re: Wild Brook trout
I mean if it's no longer populated with brook trout it A) might as well be added to the stocking list or B) might be worthwhile to try planting wild browns from another documented wild trout stream. Nah, it's good PR for it to remain classified as such. Everyone knows the presence of Brook Trout in...
