Re: Spruce Run

Yes, I guess its been awhile. I remember fishing Spruce Run Creek by that since closed down restaurant on route 31 on March 7th of 2009 and caught two 16-18 inch wild browns on in the same pool on a trout magnet. I think I even posted a pic on the last iteration of this site. It was always a bit we...

Re: Spruce Run

I was correct in that it was for the quarry's SEP project, and I swung by yesterday. It's a disaster and the engineer is the same one that screwed the pooch on the Ramapo for one of my competitors when the Borough of Oakland tried to restore sections of that river a few years back. Being a WTS, all...

Re: Spruce Run

There was no NJDEP Land Use permit pulled for Glen Gardner locations. Could it be from another town? It is a long Rte. 31 By Hunt Place. The trailer parked there says RFC? I believe on it. They are building a retaining wall. Take a drive by and a look. I was correct in that it was for the quarry's ...

OK, so no one on the other board responded, maybe here. Some work is happening to the Creek in Glen Gardner. Who is doing it and I hope it looks better than the start when they are done. Those large abutments are hideous. i doubt I'll hear from Rusty after the thrashing he got on NEFF  , don...

Re: Spruce Run

The inet can be very dark place at times. Some folks feel they can say whatever about folks they do not even know. A thick skin is needed to just ignore the ignorant. We have all been ignorant before No one is perfect. The darkness is another thing. Don't talk about peoples families or business. Ju...

Re: Fished the Musky in Hackettstown area

I've been finding plenty of stocked rainbows. A size i6 gold sparkle pupa has been doing very well. Zebra midge also. Make the pupa swim after it reaches the bottom. Most takes were on the swing or slow even retrieve.

Spruce Run

Rusty,
who is doing the work in Glen Gardner Park. the stream turns sharply and has been eroding a homes lawn, they are finally fixing it, but I hope they don't destroy the pool that was there. There are large concrete blocks being put in and a new channel is being made, it looks like anyway.

Re: Shenandoah River

I canoed the Shenandoah river a few years back. Caught lots and lots of smallies. Most were tiny..about 8 inches, got a big one on a deep pool. the small ones hit anything and were everywhere. the big one was in a deep pool and took a black woolly bugger. the small ones sit in every crack and crevic...
