I'm all for C&R for browns or have a minimum size limit of 16" if you must. They are by far my favorite trout and if they are doing well with natural reproduction, let's protect them.
so agree with this!

Have both, prefer the vest.....less movement and easier to get what I need.

Re: It was WORK & was worth it

No was downstream past Gronsky's and the bridge there. It was OK because it forced me to think and watch what was around me.

When I fished the local BASS circuit we always shared what was working, even when money was on the line. More fun to see people catch fish and enjoy.

It was WORK & was worth it

Hit a spot Troutman told me to try that was successful in 2020 and did not let me down today! Finally got my new fly rod tip about 2 weeks after I broke it and headed out today. Took about an hour to get casting down, listened to all of your tips and here are the results! Caught 7, lost about 4 more...

Re: Central Jersey Recommendations

Look at Shark River, close to the VFW lodge on Gulley Road. Went there yesterday and plenty of places to fish along with walking paths created by deer and fishermen. Spring Lake is stocked as well if I remember.

Re: First time fly fishing

3 flies in trees, lost 1 fish, broke the rod tip by being an ass.... overall a success. Thanks for the tips!!

Now I need a drop shot rig set up, met a great guy who helped explain his use of it. New rod tip is on the way from Echo already! No quit in this guy.

Re: harvesting trout ?

Funny you wrote this today, I was at the KLG yesterday and saw a family of 5 fishing about 1/2 mile from the opening (north side). They CLEARLY were keeping what they caught, IF I spoke Spanish I would have said something. Then I took a step back and thought that maybe they needed the fish to eat. T...

Pequest River April 23

Took a trip to the Pequest yesterday and it was LOADED with people by the hatchery and south. Took a ride down to Buttsville and found guys drifting salmon eggs. Needless to say I struck out, could not get a handle on where the fish were or it was really hammered there. Any tips on areas from Hot Do...
