Re: South Branch 7/24/21:

Unfortunately that night flooding rai...

Re: Melt-down? Storing Waders for Summer Road Trip

Heading west where things are hotter. Wondering if you older-hands have any advice about traveling with your waders subjected to the high heat that may happen under a pick-up truck topper/cap? Really like the new waders and don't want to damage them! :?: Why not just wear them in the air-conditione...

Re: 60 Degree Temps in July

Anyone else take advantage of the weather today. Went to the upper BF. Would have been satisfied with one. Ended up with three rainbows and two brookies, all on top. That sounds awesome, Cappy. Speaking of summer dry-fly fishing on the Big Flat, I was out recently during one of these cool mornings ...

Neighbor says squirrels and chipmunks are eating them in her backyard. Has anyone experienced anything to support the idea of FISH eating such "filet mignon"? :?:
Haven't seen one yet in N. Somerset County. Where are you?

L-up, is this a picture of a brookie on a line being reeled in, or is it just rising vertically like it's on roids?

Re: Cicadas--the 'filet mignon' for fish?

The biggest hoax in the world put on us by fly fishing magazines is that the cicada hatch will be important. Every 7 o 10 years, there is supposed to be a super emergence as there is this year, so fly mags run stories of huge trout caught on foam cicadas. And they add the obligatory tying instructi...

We will be at the Dreamcatcher Lodge on the banks of the West Branch through the Holiday weekend, fishing dry flies, telling lies, and drinking fine whiskey while sharing lots of laughs.
Sorry, but I forgot: what time did you say to be there?

Re: Wet Wading Season Opener

Out at it today and left the waders at home. I knew I would be fishing a small stream and likely not wading deep. But the water felt good! I don't know why some people are so against wet-wading. Light going, comfortable in hot weather, and convenient pit-stops. What's not to like?! Amen to that. On...

Lol..does that impact the breathability in negative way or a positive way?

I can't see the type of clothing per se being the problem but rather protruding buttons/snaps, zippers, or an angry rivet.

Re: Can someone name this river ?

i would have kept saying "wrong answer" and just wait and collect how many new rivers you could try  Only issue is, there are only a handful of Trout streams in NJ of that size, and if you fish for Trout and are on this forum you already know them. Good one though. Cappy, you're givi...
