Re: NJ Stockies
With streamers I like to run the hook through the sharpener 4 or 5 times before I start fishing a new fly. Then again later if I'm nicking the bottom periodically. Sharp hooks increase hook ups and holds with the larger streamer hooks.

If anyone knows please confirm, I usually park there to fish the D for smallies but i'd prefer not to make the haul out there if I can't park. The whole area from Warrington Rd to Rt. ...

I mostly use furled leaders and add 24"-36" of tippet depending on the situation. Otherwise I go knotless and add tippet as needed.

Dirty water wild browns
Got out Saturday 4/20 for some rainy day, small stream wild brown fishing. Went retro with a Fenwick Feralite. Stream conditions were just where I was hoping they'd be, up with some color to the flow.Managed a couple of little browns and was satisfied, then it happened. I got to a nice undercut, fli...

Re: Who Wears A Vest?
I wear a vest most of the time. It has my staff and net right were I need them plus everything I need and more (too much more). But I like it.
I do have a chest pack that I wear instead for my small stream, bushwacking adventures.

Re: Gorge stocking
Probably the primary reason I've fished it twice in 40 years, it takes me an hour and change to get there. I pass a lot of productive water on the way or an hour gets me into the Pocono's. Nah not really, its more cause of the crowds of a-hole's

I'm going to go get me a fall stocker holdover this weekend. 6 months in the river on natural food should make them better table fare.CheeseburgerFly wrote: ↑Wed Mar 13, 2019 3:38 pmCan't wait. More people on the water and all of the nice sized holders end up on a stringer.
